The robed figure was tightening his grip while saying something to Bai Peng.
Seeing that her father might die at this rate, Bai Yanfei went to help, with Bai Yue following close behind.
Once the two women arrived, they could finally hear the robed man speaking.
"I’ll ask you for the final time," the robed man threatened. "Who helped you kill the Chu family?"
"I won’t tell you," Bai Peng squeezed out.
"Then die."
The robed man no longer held back as his grip tightened, and Bai Peng seemed like he would have his neck snapped at any moment.
Wanting to save Bai Peng, Bai Yanfei rushed forward to stop the robed man.
The robed man noticed that two figures were behind him and turned around. Feeling the hostility, the robed man released his Immortal energy.
The energy was so strong that it stopped Bai Yanfei and Bai Yue in place, unable to move.
"You are an Immortal Emperor," Bai Yanfei stated. "Are you the one planning to destroy my Bai family up until now?"
"So, you already know," the robed man replied. "I guess there isn’t much of a need to continue hiding my identity, considering you will all be dying today."
The robed man began taking off his hood, which revealed a bald man with a huge scar over his eye. The man looked quite old despite being an Immortal Emperor, so he must have lived for a countless number of years.
"I will bless you all with my honorable title before you die," the scarred man stated. "I am the Limitless Mind Immortal Emperor, Nie Li."
It was a true Immortal Emperor who had come this time. Bai Yanfei was unsure of what to do, as she didn’t think the Immortal Emperor who was after Bai Yue would come this fast.
While Bai Yanfei was still deep in thought, Nie Li turned his attention to Bai Yue.
"Wait, aren’t you the one with the special constitution that I was looking for? Luck favors me today. You just walked straight into my hands without me needing to do anything. All my plans were for nothing with how easy it was for you to come in front of me."
Nie Li started getting closer to capture Bai Yue, as she was his target in the first place. When Nie Li was close enough to touch Bai Yue, he was interrupted by Jiang Yun appearing in front of him.
"Who are you?" Nie Li asked, as he was surprised by Jiang Yun’s sudden appearance. "How did you appear in front of me without my detection?"
"None of your concern," Jiang Yun replied calmly.
Nie Li was very angry with the utter disrespect Jiang Yun showed, as he was a dignified Immortal Emperor. Anywhere he went, people always showed respect for his power.
Yet in front of Jiang Yun, he seemed like just an ordinary person not even worthy of attention.
Trying to teach Jiang Yun a lesson for his disrespect, Nie Li intended to kill him with his Immortal energy. Spreading out his energy towards Jiang Yun, Nie Li expected Jiang Yun to be crushed into a bloody imprint on the floor.
Despite his expectation, Jiang Yun remained motionless when hit with his Immortal energy. This made no sense to Nie Li, as Jiang Yun had no Immortal energy and looked like a mortal.
Refusing to believe what had happened, Nie Li used even more of his Immortal energy to try and kill Jiang Yun.
This time Nie Li could feel what was happening. Whenever the Immortal energy got close, it would dissipate, resulting in Jiang Yun remaining unharmed.
"Do you also have a special constitution?" Nie Li asked. "You naturally dispel Immortal energy, which must be a constitution I’ve never seen before. No wonder I can’t feel any Immortal energy coming from you."
Jiang Yun was somewhat surprised that the Immortal Emperor in front of him came to such a conclusion. It did make sense from his perspective, but it couldn’t be further from the truth.
"I’ll take you back to study," Nie Li decided. "Since energy attacks don’t work, I’ll just take you back by physical force instead."
Nie Li reached out his hand this time to grab Jiang Yun. This time he was fully confident in subduing Jiang Yun with this new method.
Once his hand reached Jiang Yun’s body, Nie Li noticed something strange once again. No matter how he pushed or pulled, Jiang Yun remained motionless.
Trying even harder, Nie Li used his full power to try and pull Jiang Yun away from his current spot. Despite all of his efforts, Nie Li noticed Jiang Yun hadn’t moved in the slightest.
Upon noticing this, Nie Li immediately stopped as he realized something. The man in front of him was far stronger than he had originally thought.
With how calm Jiang Yun was being, Nie Li could only come to one conclusion, which was that Jiang Yun was far stronger than he was.
This caused Nie Li to back away in fear as his mind raced, trying to find a way to escape. He had gotten so far as to become an Immortal Emperor through his intellect and strategic planning.
The name Limitless Mind Immortal Emperor was given due to his mind constantly finding a way to survive. Now that he ran into an opponent who was far stronger than him, Nie Li knew when to back down and run.
Nie Li refused to die due to his pride and stubbornness, as he had only one life. Another reason was that he had spent countless years to reach the Immortal Emperor realm, and he didn’t want his life to end here after reaching the pinnacle.
Seeing that Jiang Yun was still motionless, Nie Li decided to take the opportunity to try and run away. Before he was able to escape very far, a strong force trapped him in place, unable to move.
Nie Li immediately realized this was due to Jiang Yun. This time Nie Li knew for sure he had kicked a hornet’s nest, and his life was on the line.
Trying to find a way to escape, Nie Li continued to struggle as Jiang Yun came closer. His mind was now rushing to come up with all kinds of plans to get out of the situation as the danger was increasing.
Once Jiang Yun arrived in front of Nie Li, the fear Nie Li experienced skyrocketed as his opportunity to escape was now gone. Unsure of what Jiang Yun intended to do, Nie Li began changing his strategy and wanted to talk his way out.
Before he could even speak, Jiang Yun began to talk first.
"So, you are the one who was after Bai Yue? Now that you are trapped yourself, how do you feel? Scared? Unreconciled? Confused? Well, don’t worry. You will die today, so you don’t have to think about it further."
Hearing that Jiang Yun wouldn’t let him go, Nie Li abandoned his plan of talking his way out and continued to struggle in his trapped state.
"Don’t worry," Jiang Yun stated. "I won’t let you die that easily. I will let you die by the hands that you have tormented this entire time. This will bring a satisfying conclusion to your life."
Nie Li still didn’t understand what Jiang Yun intended to do, but considering all paths led to death, he didn’t want to find out and continued struggling.
Jiang Yun gestured for Bai Yue to come forward now that she was free from Nie Li’s Immortal energy. She did as Jiang Yun asked and came forward.
Bai Yanfei and Bai Peng were both surprised by the turn of events as things were changing far too fast. Just a moment ago they were in so much trouble, but now Bai Yue was casually walking towards an Immortal Emperor.
This overturned both of their understandings of the world, with Bai Yanfei becoming even more impressed by how strong Jiang Yun was.
Once Bai Yue arrived, she looked at the trapped Nie Li and felt very happy. Nie Li had caused her so much trouble and even intended to capture her, so seeing how he was trapped now felt very satisfying.
"What do you want me to do?" Bai Yue asked, unsure of Jiang Yun’s intentions.
"I will lower the realm of this man in front of you to the same realm that you are in. I will ensure your safety, so I will give you the opportunity of killing him yourself."
"I understand. I wanted to kill this man myself anyway. It wouldn’t feel right if you killed him in my place."
"Since you agreed, then I will start now."
Jiang Yun raised his hand above Nie Li and started to lower his cultivation level. Not understanding what was happening, Nie Li began to feel his strength being stripped away.
Nie Li immediately started to panic, as this was the power he had worked very hard for. Still, he couldn’t stop his dropping realm no matter how hard he tried.
Finally, his realm stopped dropping once it reached the early stage of Immortal King.
Feeling drained and defeated, Nie Li became very depressed now that he was reduced to such a low realm. His depression soon changed as the pressure that kept him in place vanished.
"I have released you so you can fight against Bai Yue," Jiang Yun instructed. "Try your hardest, or I will make your death very painful."
Jiang Yun then backed away a decent distance to allow the two to have an uninterrupted fight.
Still unsure of what was happening, Nie Li felt he had no choice in the matter. He then turned to Bai Yue, intending to do everything he could to kill the woman in front of him.
