Chapter 801: Chapter 286: Opening a Tutoring Class, Xiaoyanzi’s “Renowned Teacher” Journey (Part 2)
Besides, there’s a big supermarket right downstairs, which is Xiaoyanzi’s favorite part.
The supermarket’s stuff is usually cheaper, and there are often member days or special discounts, which is great for someone like her who wants to save up desperately to buy an apartment.
"Yeah, that’s why the rent here is a bit higher."
While speaking, Qin Shiqing brought them a glass of water.
It was during the scorching heat of July, and the two were waiting outside the community, sweating all over.
"There’s a reason for the higher cost; considering how convenient life is here, I think it’s worth it. Haoran, what do you think?"
Even though Xiaoyanzi was quite satisfied, she still sought her boyfriend’s opinion.
After all, renting an apartment is not just a decision for one person, and out of respect, she can’t be a dictator.
"I think it’s fine too."
The honest man gave a silly smile.
Actually, he didn’t have much of an opinion, as long as his girlfriend was happy.
"Alright then, let’s look at the apartment later. If there are no issues, we can rent it here!"
As they were talking, Su Zelin’s phone rang.
It was a call from the real estate agent.
Previously, Zelin asked the agent if there were any one-living-room two-bedroom apartments available in the same community that didn’t require moving in with bags. Fortunately, a tenant had just bought a place and vacated such a unit, so Zelin asked him to hold it for them and scheduled a viewing for this afternoon.
"Hello, Mr. Su, has your friend arrived in Lin’an?"
The agent asked politely.
"Yes, they’re here at my place. When is a good time for you to come by?"
"I’m free right now. I’ll head over now and be there shortly."
"Alright, then we’ll wait for you in the community garden!"
"Okay, see you later!"
"..."
Just finished a glass of water and hadn’t even warmed the seat before heading out again.
The group went to the garden to wait and casually looked around the environment. The property management did a great job with the landscaping; it was clean, and there were regular security patrols.
Back in those days, unlike in the future with cameras and surveillance everywhere, thieves were rampant. Su Zelin considered safety when renting this place.
In some communities, anyone could walk in, but not in the Haoyue Community. Without Su Zelin and Qin Shiqing, Lu Haoran and the others couldn’t have gotten in.
The real estate agent’s office wasn’t far; he arrived in less than fifteen minutes.
After a brief introduction, without much small talk, he led them to view the apartment.
It was exactly what Xiaoyanzi wanted: one living room, two bedrooms, almost no appliances or furniture, except for an extractor hood. The key point was the rent was just a bit more than half of Su Zelin’s two-living-room, three-bedroom unit.
"This apartment is on a high floor with great lighting, air, and view; the security is top-notch. You young, pretty girls especially need to be cautious. The previous tenant rented here for five years and took excellent care of the place, as you can see, it’s spotless. They only moved because they bought their own place. With this good Feng Shui, maybe you can soon get your own place too if you rent here!"
True to his role as an agent, he was smooth-talking, leaving Xiaoyanzi flattered with "you young, pretty girls," and the previous tenant’s purchase resonated with her deeply.
Xiaoyanzi hoped to own her own place soon.
With that said, Lu Haoran also suddenly felt the place was perfect.
His girlfriend was "young and pretty," so the community’s security must be ensured.
The two discussed briefly and made a decision: "Yes, the apartment is quite good, we’ll take it. Can we sign the contract today?"
"Of course!" the agent laughed.
He pulled out a contract from his briefcase.
They paid the deposit and three months’ rent, and were able to sign the lease.
Handing over the keys and access cards to them, the agent then left.
Although they rented the place, it was empty without even a bed. It was too late to buy furniture overnight, so they would stay at Su Zelin and Qin Shiqing’s place for the night.
They didn’t go out for a big meal; Qin Shiqing had gone to the market early that morning to buy groceries, ready to host her good friends.
So, they went back to the rented place and made a meal together.
During dinner, the four of them chatted about their hopes for the future, and the atmosphere was harmonious. Qin Shiqing was quite happy.
Su Zelin noticed it all.
It seems his girlfriend really enjoys this feeling of being with her friends; maybe buying a house can wait a bit longer.
After dinner, they went down to the supermarket; although they brought some bedding and daily necessities from home, it wasn’t enough, and they still needed to buy some things.
The next day, after work, Su Zelin and Qin Shiqing went straight to their good friends’ rental and discovered that almost all the appliances had been purchased.
Almost everything was second-hand furniture and appliances.
Lin’an had a large second-hand home market with many affordable and valuable items, and they picked up some great deals, trying to cut the budget as much as possible. They were determined to save money.
That night, they had a dinner gathering at their good friends’ rented place instead.
Compared to Su Zelin’s place, the apartment was not only smaller, with only two rooms, but the living and dining areas were shared. Besides that, there was no air conditioning.
Second-hand air conditioners weren’t cheap, and Xiaoyanzi wasn’t keen on the electric bill, so they bought a few second-hand fans. Luckily, the airflow was decent, and it wasn’t too hot.
"School doesn’t start until September, so there’s over a month left, and living in the provincial capital costs money. Just in the past couple of days, we spent over 6,000 yuan on renting and furnishing. Haoran will start working at the company the day after tomorrow, and I have to find something to do too,"
