Chapter 459 - Chapter 459: The Monarch's Choice

Alexander stared at Ra’s shadow in silence. Then, he turned his head to look at the faces of his four Empresses, his women, his aunt, Scott, and Stephen, who were gazing at him with respect.

“I refuse,” said Alexander, turning back toward the Sun God and meeting his gaze without a flinch.

“You refuse?” asked Ra, raising an eyebrow. “Are you rejecting the opportunity to achieve freedom and infinite power to remain in this corner?”

“I didn’t fight through years of hell to abandon the people I bled to protect,” whispered Alexander, clenching his fists. “My place is not in a distant plane among gods; my place is right here, with them.”

The white-bearded old man contemplated him in silence through a moment. He let out a laugh that echoed across the valley basin, making the air tremble.

“I expected no less from the young monarch who unified the eclipse,” stated Ra, as his projection began to dissolve into motes of light. “Very well. I will not force you; the seed of the sun is patient.”

The old man extended his right hand, leaving a golden medallion suspended midair, hovering in front of Alexander’s chest.

“This is an open invitation,” explained Ra, his silhouette dissolving into the wind. “When this plane can no longer hold your spirit, or when your heart seeks the ultimate horizon, channel your mana into this crest. The passage to the Higher Plane will open for you.”

Alexander reached out and caught the warm medallion, feeling the pulse of solar energy in his palm. He stowed it inside his coat and turned back around toward his group.

Seeing that the divine entity had departed and that the Eclipse Monarch stood victorious, the surviving remnants of the Federation forces panicked, retreating toward the valley’s horizons.

Alexander walked toward his four Empresses and his women, opening his arms to wrap them in an embrace as the fire of his [Eclipse Monarch] blended with the twilight glow.

“We are in this together,” whispered Alexander, feeling their heartbeats against his chest. “Nothing and no one will tear us apart.”

“Ah… ah!” Helen’s moans echoed through the chamber as Alexander took her against the bed.

The room’s door burst open, and Isabela, his daughter, stepped inside with a furrowed brow and crossed arms, glaring at the scene in annoyance.

“Damn it, Dad! Can’t you do anything other than fuck all day long?” shouted Isabela, raising her voice over the gasps. “Today is my coming-of-age ceremony! Can you come celebrate my special moment?”

Alexander let out a laugh without slowing his rhythm, turning his head slightly to look at her with a grin.

“That is what I am doing,” said Alexander, laughing. “To your health… I enjoy my life.”

Alexander had become a free and happy man. Fifty years had passed since the defeat of the Federation and the departure of Ra’s shadow, and the universe was under his control. TMC had ceased being an organization to become a universal enterprise governing every corner of space.

Alexander’s power had scaled to a height that the mention of his name was enough for entire fleets and armies to lower their weapons, falling to their knees to beg for mercy.

“We expect you in the main hall before the banquet ends,” said Isabela, rolling her eyes in resignation before closing the door behind her.

“We won’t be long,” said Helen between gasps, wrapping her arms around Alexander’s neck as their tricolor energy enveloped them in a glow.

Outside the hallway, Amy approached the young girl with a smile.

“What’s wrong, my sweet?” asked her aunt Amy, noticing the young girl’s scowl.

“My father is back at it again, riding my great-aunt,” complained Isabela, crossing her arms.

“You know how your father is… he loves to have fun,” commented aunt Amy, letting out a chuckle.

“He’s just a pig,” said Isabela, rolling her eyes. “He never gets tired, having a woman of every species and fucking every day. Are you all no different? What are you doing standing out here? Waiting for your turn?”

Amy let out a giggle and looked at her with fondness, unfazed by the girl’s outbursts.

“Of course I am waiting for my turn,” whispered aunt Amy. “You don’t understand because you are young and haven’t experienced love, but when you find it, you’ll realize how beautiful it is and you will wish to spend every second bound to that man. Your father has his flaws and virtues; he is the most powerful being in the universe—what else does he have left to conquer? We are helping him overcome his loneliness.”

“Loneliness? What loneliness?” asked Isabela, furrowing her brow in confusion.

“Would you like me to tell you a story?” asked aunt Amy, gesturing for her to walk toward the balcony as the banquet music echoed in the background.

“What story?” asked Isabela, crossing her arms as curiosity gleamed in her eyes.

She loved stories about her father, hearing about his exploits, his struggles, and his conquests. She skipped the parts about the loot, since they always ended the same way: another woman in his bed being fucked without mercy to seal the loyalty of another planet, realm, or species.

“Fifty years ago your father had an opportunity, but he chose to stay with us,” explained aunt Amy, staring out at the horizon lit by galactic clouds. “After fifty years I can’t help but look at him and see that spark in his eyes. The medallion he wears on his chest is the key to that other world… if he activates it, he will never come back. That’s why we treasure every second we have with him, because tomorrow could be the last.”

Isabela remained silent, lowering her gaze to her aunt’s hands and feeling a lump in her throat as she processed the words.

“He really gave up becoming a god just to not leave you behind?” whispered Isabela, looking toward the door of the main chamber where Alexander’s energy was settling down.

“That’s right, my sweet,” said aunt Amy with a smile. “Your father gave us his entire life, but the destiny of a true monarch ends up claiming its place.”
