"What could I possibly misunderstand about you? You’re a rich lady!" Aunt Pu Yang joked with a smile.
Xiao Meng listened to Aunt Pu Yang and finally felt a bit relieved.
"By the way, is Xiao Ang feeling better? The kid never comes to me, no matter what happens... saying he’ll soon be my son, yet here I am..." Aunt Pu Yang said, showing a hint of melancholy.
"He’s better now. Just lulled him to sleep. According to Aunt Liu, he was really uncomfortable at noon, got an upset stomach, went to the bathroom several times, and took some medicine."
Su Xiaomeng quickly replied.
"I’m really sorry, and thank you for coming all the way to take care of Xiao Ang. Xiao Yan and I are quite neglectful..."
The two were conversing over here, while Xiao Yan ran into Xiao Ang’s room. Xiao Ang, half-awake, saw Xiao Yan had returned and hurriedly asked, "Where’s Su Xiaomeng? Did she leave?"
Xiao Yan felt quite defeated since his son wasn’t excited about his own return but worried whether Su Xiaomeng would leave early.
"Not yet."
"Oh, that’s good." Xiao Ang sighed with relief, climbed out of bed ready to go find Su Xiaomeng, but Xiao Yan held his arm back, "Don’t run off yet, sit down, Dad wants to ask you something."
"Can’t we talk about it later? Su Xiaomeng said she’d leave when you came back! We can’t delay this!"
Xiao Yan sighed deeply, held onto Xiao Xiaoang firmly, and pinned him down on the bed’s edge, looking at him seriously, "Your stomach really hurts?"
"Yes."
"You didn’t play tricks to get Su Xiaomeng to come and stay with you?"
"Xiao Yan, how could you think that of me? I called you, but you were so busy you didn’t pick up. I called Grandpa too, and he didn’t answer, so I had to call Su Xiaomeng!"
What Xiao Xiaoang said basically shifted all the blame onto Xiao Yan and Dean An He.
"Then why didn’t you call Aunt Pu Yang?"
Xiao Yan frowned slightly and asked.
"Well, I could call Aunt Pu Yang, but why can’t I call Su Xiaomeng?"
"Because the one who will marry Dad in the future is your Aunt Pu Yang, not Su Xiaomeng."
"You don’t like Pu Yang, why do you want to marry her? Xiao Yan, you’re really strange, you know that?" Xiao Xiaoang said as he glanced at him, put on his shoes, and walked out.
Xiao Yan found this like a dead end; every time he brought up this issue with Xiao Xiaoang, he’d respond with something similar.
Even though he had told him countless times that he liked Pu Yang, never saying he disliked her... Yet, Xiao Xiaoang never took his "like" seriously.
"Su Xiaomeng!"
Xiao Xiaoang ran out and dashed towards Su Xiaomeng, who was chatting with Aunt Pu Yang in the living room.
"You’re awake?"
"Mm-hmm."
"Feeling better now? Still uncomfortable?"
Xiao Xiaoang quickly shook his head, "Not uncomfortable anymore, feeling much better! Su Xiaomeng, stay for dinner at our home tonight!"
Xiao Meng smiled, grateful for the little guy’s enthusiasm, and touched his head, "No, Aunt has to go home..."
"Stay for dinner; I have to repay you, right?"
"Haha... such a little kid talking about repayment!"
"It’s almost six now, which is dinner time. Just stay and eat, or it’ll be so late when you get home," Aunt Pu Yang said after checking the time, urging Su Xiaomeng.
"Yeah, you must be hungry too, right?" Xiao Xiaoang quickly added, following Aunt Pu Yang’s lead.
Su Xiaomeng was about to decline when Xiao Anhe returned...
"Xiao Meng? What are you doing here?" Dean An He saw Su Xiaomeng, whom he hadn’t seen in a long time, gave a broad smile, and quickly approached.
"Dean An He, it’s been a long time indeed. I’m embarrassed to say that Shixiu and I have been back for quite a while but haven’t proactively visited you once."
"You both are busy people, that’s understandable, that’s understandable. How is your husband’s leg rehabilitation going?"
"It’s been quite good over the past two years, just struggling during cold weather."
"Recovering from such severe injuries to this extent is nothing short of a miracle."
"Grandpa, shall we stay with Su Xiaomeng for dinner tonight?"
This cunning Xiao Xiaoang knows how to read people’s expressions. Realizing Su Xiaomeng’s good rapport with his grandpa, he seized the chance to speak up. At this point, Xiao Meng could only lament how opportunistic the little guy was.
"Of course, she has to stay! Since she’s here, how can she leave without having a meal? If you mention that to your husband when you get home, wouldn’t Shixiu say that I, Dean An He, am too stingy not even to offer a meal to his wife?"
