Chapter 163: Chapter 125: A Heart Biased All the Way to the Extraterrestrial Sea

What the girl in the white dress said made the other girls trust Lin Zhenxiang far less.

Even Huo Jiaojiao was starting to have doubts.

The atmosphere was extremely awkward for Lin Zhenxiang.

And she felt pretty guilty, too.

After all, her earlier talk about taking the whole class on a trip to another planet after graduation was just something she’d said to turn everyone against the girl in the white dress.

Shu Yao clutched Xiao Juzi and backed away from the drama.

Director of Instruction Wan Shanyan suddenly appeared, her rigid, stern voice echoing through the Hall of Honor:

"You lot! What class are you in? Why aren’t you wearing your school uniforms as required by the rules!?"

Wan Shanyan walked over, her sharp gaze sweeping over them.

"Well, look at you all, dressed up prettier than the last!"

Lin Zhenxiang quickly dried her tears, her voice soft, husky, and filled with self-reproach. "Director Wan, I just found out myself."

"It’s your first day back, so I won’t blame you." Wan Shanyan turned to the other girls. "But what’s the story with the rest of you? Have you forgotten the school rules exist? Do you just let your teachers’ words go in one ear and out the other?"

Seeing how outrageously biased Director Wan was, the girl in the white dress let out a soft, unsurprised scoff.

’Lin Zhenxiang’s designer outfit is more expensive than all of ours combined. I refuse to believe Director Wan can’t see that!’

’You’d have to be blind not to!’

Wan Shanyan’s blatant favoritism stirred indignation among the other girls as well.

"Shu Yao!" Wan Shanyan called out to the girl who was trying to leave. "What’s your excuse? Didn’t your homeroom teacher tell you that wearing your uniform today was mandatory?"

Shu Yao glanced pointedly at Lin Zhenxiang.

"Director Wan, aren’t you holding our homeroom teacher to an unreasonably high standard? The homeroom teacher for Class One is so outstanding, yet even they failed to do their job properly. If our Teacher Wei were more responsible than him, shouldn’t he be the one teaching Class One by now?"

"You!" Wan Shanyan sputtered, flushing with anger and embarrassment.

Shu Yao continued, "The day you processed my student registration, didn’t it occur to you to issue me a new uniform?"

The surrounding girls looked at her with admiration.

’This transfer student is so badass!’

’She actually talked back to Director Wan—the one we’re all too scared to cross—and left her speechless.’

’How cool is that?!’

As if venting her frustration, Wan Shanyan shrieked, "All of you not in uniform, stay right here!"

"Director Wan..." Lin Zhenxiang started to speak but stopped.

Huo Jiao immediately took over, asking uneasily, "Director Wan, you’re not going to stop us from attending the presentation, are you?"

"Just stand still! I’ll make separate arrangements for you!" Wan Shanyan looked sternly at Lin Zhenxiang, who was standing to the side. "Lin Zhenxiang, you go stand with them. We wouldn’t want anyone thinking I’m biased!"

Lin Zhenxiang’s expression soured for a moment, but she obediently went to stand with Huo Jiao and the others.

She couldn’t stop herself from starting drama again.

"Sister Shu, why did you have to go and make Director Wan angry? I might have been able to put in a good word for everyone."

Shu Yao eyed her strangely. "And you have that much pull?"

Lin Zhenxiang was instantly speechless, bottling up her frustration.

Two vain girls crowded around her to ask about the post-graduation trip to another planet.

She was completely irritated but still had to act polite. ’So infuriating.’

The girl in the white dress sidled up to Shu Yao, her gaze full of admiration. "Shu Yao, you were so cool just now!"

At Imperial High School, you had to understand, very few students—not even the boys—dared to talk back to Director Wan like that.

Shu Yao coolly tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. "It was nothing."

Wan Shanyan caught a few more girls not wearing uniforms and gave them a stern scolding.

Not long after, Ke Dancheng and Teacher Wei appeared.

Teacher Wei glanced at Shu Yao, then said to Wan Shanyan with a broad smile, "Director Wan, I’ll be taking my student now."

Wan Shanyan was unrelenting. "She’s not in uniform. I’ll deal with her and the others together later!"

Teacher Wei gave Ke Dancheng a look.

A moment later, Ke Dancheng was holding out a school uniform in front of Shu Yao.

Shu Yao slipped the uniform on right then and there, and the sight made Director Wan’s face turn livid.

"Well, Director Wan, we’ll be on our way," Teacher Wei said, his smile as pleasant as ever.

Wan Shanyan’s face was tight with resentment. She could only watch as Shu Yao was led away to the second floor of the Hall of Honor by the homeroom teacher of Class Six.

A couple of girls who weren’t in uniform tried to take advantage of the confusion and sneak upstairs with the others. Despite their best efforts to go unnoticed, they couldn’t escape Wan Shanyan’s eagle eyes and were stopped at the foot of the stairs.

While Wan Shanyan’s attention was diverted, Lin Zhenxiang suggested in a low voice, "Why don’t we... all go hide first!"

Her eyes glinted as she looked at Wan Shanyan, who was blocking the staircase and lecturing the students sternly.

"Director Wan probably won’t let us off this time." She glanced uneasily at the time, then added, "It’s almost eleven. The representatives from Imperial University will definitely pass through here soon. I don’t want to be stuck here making a fool of myself."

Her words sent the other girls into a panic.

Huo Jiaojiao looked like she was about to burst into tears. "What are we going to do?"

Lin Zhenxiang offered a clever solution. "That’s why we need to hide first. We’ll come back to the venue right before it starts. If we all go in together, there’s no way Director Wan can stop all of us!"

"Okay, let’s go hide!" the girls all agreed.
