"These bastards are worse than dog shit!"
When Jula saw his soldiers driven mad by the Mad Fire, he couldn’t help but curse out loud.
Anyone knows that Mad Fire is like a sticky piece of stinky dog shit that’s hard to shake off; once it gets on you, there’s a high chance you’ll go crazy like those cultists, which is why battles with members of the Mad Fire God Sect are always conducted under strict Protective Shields.
If, by chance, even a tiny bit of your skin gets contaminated with Mad Fire, not even the Demon King can keep you safe; heaven knows if you’ll turn into a machine repeating "Praise the Mad Fire God."
If Jula were to rank the enemies he’d least want to face, Mad Fire would surpass the Crimson Corruption to take first place.
Apart from Mad Fire’s terrifyingly strong infectious ability, the most baffling and unbeatable aspect for Jula is—
The people who use Mad Fire often manage to do unexpected things in desperate situations.
The most common scenario is when the Mad Fire God Sect’s army is defeated with only a few escaping, leaving behind the old, weak, sick, and powerless, so weak that a single kick could knock them down.
Yet it’s these very weaklings who, in the intense despair of the battlefield, can unleash the Mad Fire, letting yellow flames burn everything and taking hundreds or thousands of enemies down with them!
Ultimately, Mad Fire is something that can easily be driven into a Burst Seed by emotions.
And weaklings usually fall into despair quickly.
Despair is the best Firewood for Mad Fire.
Jula has always judged soldiers based on their Combat Power, but these Mad Fire God followers stand perfectly against his principles, leaving him unsure how to evaluate them. His troops have found themselves at a disadvantage more than once in battles with the Mad Fire God Sect.
And now, the only two Demon Clans in Sain Dungeon have, right in front of him, caused Mad Fire to rage!
I didn’t provoke you all, didn’t target you, nor did I even think about killing you now...
What are you doing feeling so despairing that you’re causing Mad Fire to rage!?
And their lament is directed at the house Jula had built with his own hands.
"Why do you have such deep feelings for my house?"
Jula was utterly baffled, but now didn’t seem like the time to ponder this question.
Half of his soldiers had already been infected by the raging Mad Fire, and they were now slaughtering each other with their former comrades, turning the battlefield into a chaotic ocean, with few able to help him deal with Onora.
The gap that should have been bridged by sheer numbers had not been closed, and he had pointlessly lost many soldiers.
And on the opposing side, Onora was watching the "civil war" of the rebel army with great interest.
"What a grand show, Jula, you didn’t expect this outcome, did you?" She smirked, teasingly eyeing Jula.
"How does it feel now, getting your plans messed up by the weak ones you’ve always looked down on?"
Onora had some understanding of Mad Fire’s characteristics; her army would prefer quick engagements when dealing with the Mad Fire God Sect.
Because once the battle dragged on, there was no telling what new tricks the Mad Fire Cultists might pull.
Her claws transformed; her hands became beast-like talons, effortlessly cutting through as if slicing through vegetables.
It was clearly just ordinary flesh transforming, but Jula sensed an extraordinary threat from it.
"Roar!"
He suddenly roared towards the sky, the roar accurately conveying its message into the ears of every soldier.
Before the roar’s echo dissipated, he turned and fled without a trace of fighting spirit, hardly resembling a warlike demon general.
"Humph, trying to run?"
Onora’s figure appeared like a specter behind Jula. Jula detonated the flesh on his back, but the violent explosion seemingly failed to harm her.
"Ah!"
Jula screamed out in pain as Onora’s claws raked across his back, turning the wound instantly into a horrifying pulp, demonstrating terrifying attack power.
This injury didn’t slow Jula down; instead, it unleashed his potential in a life-and-death situation, greatly increasing his speed and distancing himself from Onora.
She continued the chase but ultimately couldn’t catch him; Jula darted through a Teleportation Gate and disappeared.
"Heh heh..."
Onora willingly stopped her pursuit, looked at the lingering ripples in the Teleportation Gate, and smiled triumphantly.
Whether Jula escaped or not didn’t matter; as long as he took my claw, the outcome is clear.
She unfurled broad wings from her back, soaring high to watch the fray surrounding the Great Safety Zone below.
From the sky, she could clearly see the rebel army soldiers invoked by Jula appearing endlessly in the Sain Dungeon. Some soldiers, like headless flies, were bumping around lost, but more of them were charging toward the Great Safety Zone.
In contrast, the number of soldiers infected by the Mad Fire’s rage moments ago was no longer increasing, and their dwindling numbers paled against the surging wave of rebel soldiers, inevitably leading to their being crushed.
