Chapter 255 - Chapter 255: Unified Force Field

Chapter 255: Chapter 254: Unified Force Field

Ever since mastering the Grand Unification Formula, Li Qingsong had come to understand the attack mechanism of the Energy Cannon. He knew that an Energy Cannonball’s immense power came from its projectile being in a Strong Core Excited State, effectively turning it into a Super Micro-Nuclear Bomb. This knowledge had sparked an idea.

The idea was this: ‘If a projectile can be externally influenced into a Strong Core Excited State to release the Strong Core Force from the microscopic world, then… could other materials do the same?’

‘For instance, a teacup, a toothbrush, a washing machine… or even a Warship?’

One thing was certain: if an object’s volume or mass became too large, its stability would plummet.

An Energy Cannonball could maintain a relatively stable Strong Core Excited State—not detonating in the ammunition hold or the cannon’s barrel—precisely because of its small mass and volume. It would only explode upon impact with a target, when the violent shock would cause it to release its internal Strong Core Force.

Clearly, even if Li Qingsong could place a massive Warship into a Strong Core Excited State, its enormous size, mass, and incredibly complex internal structure would make it inherently unstable.

The very instant it entered a Strong Core Excited State, it would detonate.

This ruled out the possibility of Li Qingsong putting his own ship into a Strong Core Excited State and launching a suicide attack.

But that didn’t matter. ‘If I can’t put my own ship into a Strong Core Excited State, then… could I find a way to put the enemy’s ship into one instead?’

Once a ship entered a Strong Core Excited State, it would detonate instantly. Therefore, forcing an enemy ship into that state was equivalent to destroying it yourself.

Based on this line of thinking, Li Qingsong began developing a new type of weapon.

But he soon discovered this method was not feasible.

The reason was simple: his method for putting an Energy Cannonball into a Strong Core Excited State involved placing it under highly controlled conditions and using managed collisions with X and Y Bosons.

‘In the chaos of a battlefield, how could I possibly manage to excite an enemy’s Warship?’

But Li Qingsong didn’t give up. He shifted his approach.

‘If targeting a single Warship isn’t feasible, then… could I target space itself?’

Li Qingsong’s idea of “targeting space itself” didn’t mean affecting space directly.

That would be impossible. He didn’t have that kind of power.

His concept was to create a kind of force field that could envelop an entire region of space, affecting all matter within it.

Electromagnetism has the Photon field, Gravity has its gravitational field, the weak nuclear force has the W and Z boson field, and the Strong Core Force has the gluon field.

The Particles mediating the unified force are the X and Y Bosons, and they can form X and Y Boson Fields.

Ordinarily, X and Y Bosons can only exist for a fleeting moment before they decay. But that was no longer an issue; a Strong Core Civilization could create a specific environment to extend their lifespan.

This was precisely how a Strong Core Civilization was able to put an Energy Cannonball into a Strong Core Excited State.

‘So, targeting a single Warship for Strong Core excitation is unfeasible. But what if I construct an X and Y Boson Field to envelop an entire region of space? Could I excite the Strong Core Force within every object in that area?’

With this concept in mind, Li Qingsong resumed his research and development.

Then, he encountered an even greater obstacle.

He discovered that while the weapon was theoretically sound, it was practically impossible to engineer—at least, for a conventional intelligent civilization.

But as for Li Qingsong…

That was another matter entirely.

The first challenge was that the incredibly complex battlefield environment created an equally complex computational demand.

To place an entire region of space under the boson field, the effects of the battlefield environment had to be taken into account. This meant the field’s influence had to be custom-tailored to the conditions.

The constant flux of the battlefield required immense, instantaneous calculations that existing Quantum Supercomputers simply could not perform.

Moreover, this was only one of the challenges.

Another, also related to computation, was the placement of the Unified Force Field emitters. They had to be positioned in the rear, at a safe distance from the battlefield, to ensure they wouldn’t be destroyed. Consequently, there would be a delay before the field’s influence reached the front lines.

This meant Li Qingsong’s system couldn’t just calculate and adapt to the current battlefield conditions. It had to predict the state of the battle tens of seconds, or even a minute or two, into the future—with the exact delay depending on the distance—and it had to do so with an extremely high degree of accuracy.

Only with a sufficiently high prediction accuracy could the influence of their Unified Force Field align with the battlefield’s reality and produce the desired effect across the entire combat zone.

Li Qingsong estimated that the minimum required accuracy was over 90%.

Beyond that, the higher the accuracy, the more effective the field’s excitation would be.

This problem went beyond mere computing power; it was a matter of the computational model itself. In other words, even if a Quantum Supercomputer’s processing power were increased ten-thousandfold, it still wouldn’t be enough.

Meeting this computational demand would require a true strong AI—one possessing the same kind of computational model as a genuinely intelligent life form.

Li Qingsong didn’t even know if a true strong AI existed anywhere in the Cosmos, let alone how to develop one himself.

The master AI of the Intelligent Mechanical Calamity, though powerful, was fundamentally just a weak AI. It possessed no true consciousness of its own.

Faced with this obstacle, Li Qingsong devised a solution that was nothing short of insane.

‘If I can’t build a true strong AI, then I’ll just use real biological intelligence instead! I’ll pair human brains with a Quantum Supercomputer to meet the demand!’

The two billion Clones currently lying in intelligent pods were the “biological intelligence supercomputer” Li Qingsong had constructed to meet the computational demand.

Through extensive prior research, Li Qingsong had already confirmed the parameters. For a battlefield involving a Strong Core Level civilization, using approximately 1.5 billion Clones as a biological supercomputer would allow him to reach the minimum required prediction accuracy of 90%.

Building on that, the more Clones he committed, the larger the biological supercomputer became, and the higher the accuracy rate would climb.

The current deployment of two billion Clones wasn’t enough to boost the accuracy to its maximum potential.

When it came to the Clones, the more the better; there was no upper limit. However, at this stage, two billion was the absolute maximum number Li Qingsong could contribute to the effort.

But even after solving that problem, the project faced another hurdle. Even if he built his “biological intelligence supercomputer” using real living beings as tools, regardless of the cost, he would still need to solve the issue of coordination between the different entities.
