Chapter 452: Chapter 452: Seraphina Elopes with Someone (8)
Hearing this, Terrence Grant’s expression softened considerably. It seemed Wyatt Gallagher wasn’t that close to Seraphina after all; he didn’t even know which college she attended. "Could it be Zion Hale?"
For a moment, Seraphina Sterling looked a little dazed. "Probably not. I haven’t seen him in a long time. I guess he’s traveling somewhere."
Terrence Grant had run through everyone he could think of. In Aethelgard, Seraphina only knew a handful of people. "So there’s no other message from them?" He had always been persistent; he was determined to dig this person up.
"Just one sentence: ’Hella, Seraphina Sterling!’ Oh, all-powerful Mr. Grant, put that brilliant mind of yours to work. Take your time, investigate thoroughly! But before all that, aren’t you going to tell me where you’re taking me?" Seraphina Sterling looked completely exhausted. All she wanted right now was a good, long sleep.
"A date!"
Er...
’First flowers, now a date... looks like he’s really putting in the effort! Maybe he genuinely doesn’t know how to woo a girl. After all, just like he said, girls have always thrown themselves at him. This must be the first time he’s actively pursued someone. For him, the difficulty level is probably a little high.’
’Oh, well. She was the one who said that normal people pursue girls with flowers, dates, and romance. Terrence Grant was just following her instructions. And even though the results were a little different from what she’d expected, the most important thing was his intention! She could forgive him for not showing up, not calling, and disappearing for so long.’
Terrence Grant took her directly to the Stelluna Hotel, one of the most luxurious hotels in Aethelgard. Seraphina Sterling had originally thought Terrence was taking her here to eat, since he’d said it was a date. But to her surprise, he led her straight to the elevator, and up to the guest room floors no less. Even more ridiculously, it was a honeymoon suite!
Staring at the room, awash in pink, Seraphina Sterling’s mouth twitched. ’Am I an idiot? Did I really just come get a room with Terrence Grant?’ When had she let her guard down around him so completely that she’d just follow him wherever he led? Now that she was in this situation, how was she going to get out of it? "I think... we should just go downstairs and have a simple meal."
Terrence Grant was delighted by her cute, terrified expression. "Don’t let your imagination run wild. Your Mr. Grant isn’t that much of a beast! I’m not going to do anything to you. Even if I wanted to be a beast, I’d at least wait until you’re an adult!"
Er... Even Seraphina Sterling felt a little embarrassed at having her thoughts read so easily. ’But what does Terrence Grant mean by that? Does he think it’s noble of him to wait until I’m an adult to... do that? No, wait, why am I even thinking about doing... that... with Terrence Grant?’ Seraphina’s cheeks flushed red as she shook her head violently, trying to banish all the chaotic thoughts from her mind.
"Looks like I’ll have to keep my guard up around you from now on, lest you suddenly turn into a beast!"
Terrence Grant nodded with mock seriousness. "Then you’d better guard it well!"
Seraphina Sterling stared speechlessly at the ceiling. ’Could anyone be more shameless than him?’
"You can enjoy the view downstairs—this is the tallest building in all of Aethelgard—or watch some TV. Dinner will be ready in a bit!" With that, Terrence Grant slipped into the kitchen.
’He’s going to cook himself?’ Seraphina Sterling’s eyes suddenly went wide. The last time, in his apartment, he had cooked personally! Even though she’d already experienced it once, she couldn’t help but be shocked to hear he was cooking again. Mr. Grant of Aethelgard... actually knew how to cook! Could anything be more shocking than this?
Seraphina Sterling didn’t look at the night view, nor did she watch TV. Instead, she stood at the kitchen entrance, watching the man busy himself in front of the stove. ’I have no idea what strings he pulled to get the hotel to set up a kitchen for him!’
’She had thought his idea of a date was just taking her out for a meal! She never imagined he would cook for her himself!’
She watched his tall, straight figure, his sleeves rolled up to his wrists, the top two buttons of his shirt undone. Even while cooking, he was so handsome and dashing. Listening to the SWISH of running water and the SIZZLE of the steak, Seraphina Sterling suddenly felt herself enveloped in a bubble of happiness, her heart filled with contentment.
’There was someone willing to disregard his status, to enter the kitchen and cook for you, all just to see you smile or hear a word of praise. How many women, in their entire lifetime, get to meet someone so utterly devoted to them?’
Seraphina Sterling suddenly thought that if she were to ever get married, Terrence Grant would actually be an excellent choice. ’Being his Mrs. Grant... would probably be very blissful, wouldn’t it?’
Terrence Grant had no idea that the mere sight of his back had just created a crack in Seraphina Sterling’s iron-clad heart.
Meanwhile, after Leo Fenton brought Nadia Chapman to Westbound, it didn’t take long for them to confirm his third round of additional investment. Nadia Chapman looked at the contract in her hands, a thrill of excitement running through her. She wanted to tell Seraphina Sterling the good news immediately. "Since our business is concluded, I’ll be taking my leave. Please, Mr. Fenton, enjoy yourself."
"Wait! President Chapman, don’t be in such a hurry. We rarely get a chance to come out. Relax a little, don’t be so wound up!" Leo Fenton stopped her and poured two glasses of wine. "To our... successful partnership!"
Nadia Chapman stared at the wine in the glass, her brow furrowed. Without a word, she took a tiny sip. "To our successful partnership. There will be plenty of opportunities in the future. I really must be going."
But she never expected that just as she stepped out of the private room, she would run right into Fiona Chapman.
