Chapter 460: Chapter 460: Rapid Rescue (8)

Seraphina Sterling had just reached the entrance when she was stopped. It couldn’t be helped. She wasn’t one to move in high society, and without a single designer brand on her, she naturally wasn’t qualified to enter such a high-class establishment.

"Miss, we’re not hiring! If you’re looking for a job, please try next door!" The doorman was blunt, his gaze filled with disdain.

Seraphina Sterling was in no mood to waste words with him and directly tossed out the black card Martin Quinn had once given her.

The doorman’s expression changed instantly. He started bowing and nodding. "I was blind and failed to recognize your importance! Miss, you are a magnanimous person, please don’t lower yourself to my level. Please, come in!"

If she weren’t in a hurry, Seraphina Sterling would have definitely taught this guy a lesson for judging people by their appearance.

Watching Seraphina Sterling walk in without another word, the doorman let out a breath he’d been holding. It was the first time he had ever seen someone with a black card! All employees at Westbound were told by their supervisors on their very first day that if they encountered a guest with a black card, they must treat them with the utmost courtesy! They absolutely could not allow the guest to feel any discomfort whatsoever!

But he had worked here for three years and had never met a single guest holding a black card. Today he finally met one, and he’d managed to offend her with his very first words! ’People who can get a black card are either incredibly rich or powerful! But that young lady who just went in... she really didn’t look like she had anything to do with wealth or power! If I get fired over this, it’ll be so unfair!’

Seraphina Sterling’s path was now clear and unobstructed. The atmosphere in the main hall, however, was strange. The guests had stopped their entertainment but showed no signs of leaving. She scanned the area but couldn’t find Nadia Chapman. Instead, she ran into Leo Warren. "Is Mr. Quinn here?"

"Miss Sterling, this is our Young Master’s place. It’s perfectly normal for him to be here." Leo Warren had lost to Seraphina Sterling once before, so his attitude towards her was quite respectful. After all, she was someone even the Young Master held in high regard.

"My friend, Nadia Chapman, ran into some trouble here, but now I can’t find her. I was wondering if I could trouble you to help me look for her." Although Seraphina Sterling was worried and anxious, her tone was courteous.

"President Chapman did run into some trouble, but it’s all been resolved now. She’s upstairs with our Young Master at the moment." Hearing that Seraphina Sterling was also here for Nadia Chapman, Leo Warren immediately led the way.

When Seraphina Sterling pushed open the door, she saw Nadia Chapman on an IV drip. A doctor was applying medicine to her red, swollen shoulder. Martin Quinn stood to one side, his expression dark and unreadable, his thoughts impossible to guess.

"Seraphina, you’re finally here!" Seeing Seraphina Sterling, Nadia Chapman finally, truly began to relax. Even though Martin Quinn had saved her, this was his territory. The fact that something like this had happened in his establishment made it impossible for her to trust him completely.

"What happened? You’re even injured!" A flash of guilt crossed Seraphina Sterling’s bright eyes. ’If I hadn’t dragged Nadia into this mess, she wouldn’t have been in this kind of danger today!’

Nadia Chapman summarized the night’s events in a few simple sentences: Men were trash. She never expected Leo Fenton would actually spike her drink. Justin wanted to assault her just because he’d taken a liking to her. And the manager, without distinguishing right from wrong, had sided with Justin! And, of course, one more thing: Mr. Quinn’s judgment was really terrible for hiring such employees!

Martin Quinn was just catching a stray bullet. To think he had abandoned his foreign partners and an entire conference room of staff to come and rescue her! And this was the review he got!

"So that’s what happened. Men really are trash." Seraphina Sterling looked at the wound on Nadia’s shoulder and her tattered dress. Even though Nadia hadn’t spelled it out, she could imagine how dangerous the situation had been. Seraphina rarely got angry, because in her eyes, only the incompetent resorted to anger. But this time, she was truly furious.

"Mr. Quinn, the ones who committed the offense are your people. I have no opinion on how you choose to punish them, but before that, as Nadia’s friend, don’t I have the right to pay them a little visit?"

"Leo Warren, take Miss Sterling over." Martin Quinn agreed directly, without a moment’s hesitation.

"Miss Sterling, this way."

"You finish getting your medicine. We’ll leave together in a bit." Seraphina Sterling gave her a warm, reassuring smile, then followed Leo Warren out.

Nadia Chapman felt weak all over, her mind sluggish. It was a long moment after Seraphina Sterling left before she finally reacted. "Mr. Quinn, will Seraphina be okay?"

"Don’t worry. Anyone can get into trouble, but not her. You’d be better off worrying about yourself." Martin Quinn gave her a faint glance. The red swelling on her pale skin was a real eyesore.

"No, I’m still worried. I have to go too!" She knew from experience how strong that man, Justin, was. He had only kicked her once, and it felt like half her body was no longer hers. ’Seraphina is so impulsive, she’s going to get hurt!’

Nadia Chapman was about to get out of bed, but her legs hadn’t recovered their strength yet, and she stumbled. Fortunately, Martin Quinn had quick eyes and fast hands. He crossed the distance in a few large strides and caught her in his arms. "Since you’re injured, you should try to rest."

His strong physique, his warmth, his stern concern—it all made Nadia Chapman dazed for a moment before she calmed down. "I have to find Seraphina! I don’t want her to get in trouble because of me!"

Her dark eyes were resolute, and her soft voice held a stubborn persistence. Martin Quinn sighed helplessly, defeated by her gaze. "I’ll take you."

Leo Warren led Seraphina Sterling directly to a large private room. All of Westbound’s employees were there. After stepping inside, Seraphina said nothing. She found the manager and Justin and began to beat them savagely. Her attacks were ruthless and decisive. When the other employees finally swarmed her, Seraphina Sterling showed no fear, fighting one against a hundred and showing no mercy.
