Fang Cheng fell into a contemplative silence.
Beiming Cang Xue bit her lip, her beautiful eyes fixed on Fang Cheng. In a soft voice, she said, “I must inform you, Senior, that the true treasures of this Spirit Immortal’s Abandoned Mansion are all located within that Immortal Hall. Anyone who enters without knowing the proper method is certain to suffer a backlash from the mansion’s restrictive spells. I was fortunate enough to learn the secret from my father. If you can free me, Senior, you will have the first pick of all the treasures inside.”
Her lovely face was dignified, her expression utterly sincere. Her eyes shone with earnest hope.
Fang Cheng nodded, the corners of his lips curling into a slight smile. “Very well. I’ll trust you this one time. But if I discover you’ve lied, I will make you wish for a death that will never come.”
Beiming Cang Xue smiled charmingly. “Please rest assured, Senior.”
Fang Cheng immediately executed a Sword Technique, calmly dissipating the Sword Qi that had trapped her.
Beiming Cang Xue flew over to Fang Cheng and performed a graceful bow. “Thank you for saving my life, Senior,” she said.
Fang Cheng waved his hand dismissively. “When we run into that Venerable Jiayin, there’s bound to be a major battle over the treasures. I’m afraid I’ll be too preoccupied to look out for you, so be prepared.”
Beiming Cang Xue nodded, a hint of pride on her pretty face. “Venerable Jiayin may be formidable, but she is no match for the protection my father bestowed upon me. Please, Senior, act as you see fit. You don’t need to worry about me.”
Fang Cheng glanced at the grey feather again, his curiosity piqued about the Spirit Immortal from the Beiming Immortal Race.
Soon after, he led Beiming Cang Xue through the far end of the Sword Mark Abyss and finally stepped into the Immortal Hall.
The moment they entered the Immortal Hall, the Spiritual Pressure that permeated the Immortal Mansion completely vanished. Their bodies returned to their original forms as well.
The majestic hall was filled with an auspicious, radiant light, creating a serene and solemn atmosphere. The walls, floor, and ceiling were all fashioned from a single, seamless expanse of green jade, leaving the hall feeling vast and empty.
At the far end of the hall, the floor rose slightly to form a magnificent, square dais, which was completely bare.
Even the Spirit Immortal Incarnation, who should have already been inside the Immortal Hall, was nowhere to be found.
Beiming Cang Xue glided gracefully onto the dais and sat in the lotus position. Her hands formed a Seal Technique as she began to mutter an incantation.
As she performed the Secret Technique, a soft, auspicious glow materialized beneath her. A round, three-foot-wide Meditation Mat slowly appeared, and bathed in its radiance, the young woman seemed to shine even more brilliantly.
Behind the Meditation Mat, a treasured light flickered in the empty air, revealing twelve Golden Screens. Depicted upon them were nine Golden Crow Divine Birds, shimmering with a brilliant, ever-shifting golden radiance.
To the front and left of the dais, a speck of firelight swirled into being, revealing a White Jade Lamp Holder. The flame within burned a steady, verdant green.
Thrust into the floor beside the Lamp Holder was a Bronze Flying Sword. It was only about a foot long, its surface covered in dense, cloud-like patterns that seemed to ripple and flow.
‘A Tier Six Flying Sword!’
The moment he saw it, a thrill of excitement shot through Fang Cheng, but he dared not make a single rash move.
He looked toward the Divine Lamp and saw, trapped within its flame, a tiny figure no bigger than a black bean.
The figure was that of a beautiful young Nun. She wore a white Zen Robe as thin as gossamer and sat upon a lotus throne. One of her hands pointed toward the ground while the other formed a Seal Technique. Her fingers were long and slender. Below her robe, her bare feet were as white as frost—delicate, supple, and exquisitely slender.
The Nun possessed a sacred, dignified air that naturally inspired reverence, making it impossible to stare at her directly.
‘The Spirit Immortal Incarnation from Yuelang Heaven… Venerable Jiayin!’
As Fang Cheng stared at the lamp’s flame, a wisp of his Divine Sense was instantly pulled into a vast, boundless world of fire.
Endless, furious flames blazed. The Nun’s lotus throne transformed into a colossal Golden Lotus, carrying with it an infinite stream of Star Sand as it soared toward the heavens. It then formed a great canopy that descended to cover the world, as tides of fiery pearls rolled and fell from its edges.
The collision of flame and Star Sand kicked up heaven-scorching waves of fire, a heart-stopping, dizzying spectacle that surged like a great tide.
Fang Cheng’s wisp of Divine Sense lasted only a moment before the blaze incinerated it.
He looked at the tiny flame and instantly understood. ‘Venerable Jiayin must have accidentally triggered a restrictive spell after entering the Immortal Hall, getting herself sucked into this Divine Lamp.’
With her trapped, he and Beiming Cang Xue now had the perfect opportunity to claim the treasures for themselves.
