Chapter 786: Chapter 282: Senior, I Want to Give You a Special Graduation Gift! (2)
Kang Yulian looked at Su Zelin with a face full of affection.
Such an excellent young man, so well-behaved, it’s hard not to like him.
"Our good-for-nothing daughter, no matter what we say, insisted on marrying far away in Diannan. Now it’s so hard for Old Dai and me to even meet her. At least you can occasionally accompany us for a meal and a chat."
"If she married well, that would be one thing, but she didn’t. I don’t know what she saw in her husband. He’s neither rich nor powerful. Marriage isn’t just about romance and love; it’s also about daily life and responsibilities. Now she argues with her husband every day. Xiaosu, what wrong did we do to deserve this!"
The Vice Director’s wife couldn’t help but complain about her daughter again.
She and Dai Chuangxing had everything going well, except for the worry over their daughter’s marriage.
Having only one daughter, who married far away and didn’t make a good choice, really bothered Kang Yulian.
"If her husband were half as good as you, Xiaosu, Old Dai and I wouldn’t object! By the way, Xiaosu, do you have a girlfriend? I know quite a few young women working at my unit, some are even daughters of leaders and are quite pretty, very suitable for you. How about I introduce one to you?"
Saying this, Kang Yulian was about to play matchmaker.
"No, no, Auntie, thank you. I just graduated and I’m busy, I need to focus on my career."
Su Zelin hurriedly declined.
He already had enough girlfriends and didn’t want to get involved with the daughter of some leader.
"Career is important, but you can’t focus only on work. You can date while working."
Kang Yulian misunderstood, not catching the deeper meaning.
"Alright, alright, given Xiaosu’s conditions, finding a girlfriend shouldn’t be hard. You don’t need to worry about that."
Vice Director Dai seemed to sense something.
Su Zelin didn’t worry about not finding a girlfriend, he worried about having too many girls chasing him.
Kang Yulian grunted, "You, you, why don’t you care about Xiaosu’s major life decisions? A good partner is important. With the right support, his career will also go smoothly!"
Dai Chuangxing didn’t reply.
He wasn’t one to talk much, and silence was the best way to avoid arguing with Kang Yulian.
Su Zelin was used to the old couple’s dynamics.
The future of Lu Haoran and Xiaoyanzi would probably be like this.
One willing to give, the other willing to take.
After having dinner at the Dai family, listening to Kang Yulian’s household chatter, and drinking tea with Dai Chuangxing, when he returned to the dorm, the sky was already dark.
The opposite dorm building was still brightly lit, filled with laughter.
People were singing, playing guitar, whistling, taking baths on the back balcony in their underwear...
These were all students about to become sophomores, blissfully ignorant of worries. Tomorrow they would start their vacation, all very happy, just like the six rascals of Room 302 back in the day.
Su Zelin was a bit envious of these juniors.
Youth is an expired ticket, a fleeting cloud, truly too short.
Time flies, and when you start crying over the inevitable partings in life, the young have unknowingly grown up.
As someone who’s been reborn, Su Zelin was quite lucky; he experienced youth twice.
Yet, even if he could go through such campus life a few more times, he wouldn’t get tired of it.
He was leaning against the corridor railing, lost in thought.
A guy came up the stairs with a six-pack of beer in hand.
Seeing Su Zelin, he took out a can of beer from the bag: "Buddy, want some?"
This guy was a graduate on the same floor as Su Zelin. They were in the same finance department but different majors. They often ran into each other, so he seemed familiar, but they didn’t know each other.
Him greeting Su Zelin wasn’t surprising. Only a handful of graduates were left on this floor, so when they met, they’d occasionally chat.
Being without companions was indeed a lonely thing.
"Sure!"
Su Zelin didn’t stand on ceremony.
Putting the beers on the ground, the guy took out two cans, handing one to Su Zelin, and opened another.
"Without realizing, we’re graduating this year. I still remember the scene when I first stepped into this dorm building!"
The guy spoke with a wistful tone, clearly a sentimental person.
"Yeah."
Su Zelin nodded, casually asked, "Have you found a job yet?"
The guy shook his head: "No, I found one before graduating, at the company where I interned. It’s alright."
"Then why are you still at school?"
Su Zelin was puzzled.
Those still staying at school are for one of two reasons.
Either they haven’t found a job, or they’re staying to save money on accommodation.
He had seen this guy many times after graduation, always with a six-pack of beer. He didn’t seem like someone with financial troubles trying to save a few bucks.
"I can’t bear to leave!"
The guy was straightforward.
Su Zelin understood.
Another person nostalgic for campus life.
Just like himself.
Even if not waiting for Huang Panpan, Su Zelin wouldn’t go home too soon; he’d linger a while longer on campus.
Even though Zeng Kaiping left today, leaving the dorm empty with just himself, and the finance college was officially on vacation tomorrow, he could have set off tonight, but Su Zelin still planned to leave in the morning.
"Kindred spirits, cheers!"
The guy raised his beer.
"To the finance college, to our bygone campus days!"
The guy clinked his can with Su Zelin’s.
After finishing a can of beer, someone else appeared on the stairs, a pretty girl.
Huang Panpan arrived.
Carrying two milk teas and a bag of snacks in her hand.
