Chapter 80 - Chapter 80: Was That Someone Moaning?

The door clicked shut behind them, and Liv had Dawn against the wall before the latch had even finished settling into place.

Dawn did not know when they had left the corridor, only that one moment she had been walking at the General’s side, listening to the distant murmur of servants and the soft scuff of their own steps on the stone, and the next Liv had hooked an arm around her waist and steered her through a narrow side door.

They passed another doorway, then another, the palace noise thinning with every turn until it faded into something muffled and far away. The room they stopped in was small, barely wide enough for two people to stand comfortably, and its walls were lined with shelves that sagged under the weight of old books no one had touched in years. Dust hung in the thin light that slipped in from a narrow window high near the ceiling, and the air smelled of paper and dry wood.

Dawn had barely opened her mouth to ask why they had stopped there when Liv pinned her to the wall.

The kiss that followed was consuming. Liv kissed her the way she did everything else, with the calm certainty of someone who had already decided the outcome and was simply taking her time arriving at it.

There was no hesitation in it, no room left for Dawn to think, only the slow, deliberate pressure of an alpha who knew exactly how much she could take. Liv parted Dawn’s lips with her own, and Dawn melted into it without a single thought of resistance. Her arms wound around Liv’s neck, and she pressed herself closer, giving herself over the way she always did when the General’s hands found her.

Submission came to her easily like this. It always had.

Somewhere in the back of her mind she was still aware of the worm inside her, nestled deep and working with that patient, maddening rhythm it had kept since the morning. She could feel it rubbing against the sensitive nub of her core, a small, constant pressure that refused to let her body settle.

Her legs trembled beneath her, and it took everything she had just to keep standing. Liv noticed, of course. Liv noticed everything. The alpha’s hands slid down, gripped her by the thighs, and lifted her clean off the floor as though she weighed nothing, and Dawn’s breath caught when those fingers squeezed her bottom on the way up.

"Haah~ Liv~ ngh—"

The sound slipped out of her before she could stop it, and she felt the shape of Liv’s smirk against her mouth. When the General finally pulled back just enough to look at her, there was a lazy satisfaction in her eyes that made Dawn’s stomach flip.

"You’re enjoying yourself," Liv murmured, her voice was low and unhurried. "It turns out you weren’t satisfied last night after all, my love."

Dawn wanted to deny it, but her body betrayed her before she could. The worm quickened its pace, and her back arched away from the wall, pressing her chest against Liv as though chasing something she could not quite reach.

"Haah~ I need you~ please~ I need... Ngh~ I need you inside... please~"

The admission left her mouth in pieces, half-swallowed by her own breath. She could feel herself growing lightheaded, intoxicated by the steady climb of her own arousal, and the way the worm kept pushing her higher with every pass.

Liv did not answer with words. Instead she reached for the ties of Dawn’s robe and began to undo them, and Dawn noticed at once how different this was from their usual urgency. There was no hurry in it, no tugging or tearing. Liv worked the fabric open with a patience that felt almost reverent, and when the robe finally slipped from Dawn’s shoulders, the alpha bent her head and pressed soft, open-mouthed kisses along the curve of her shoulder and up the line of her collarbone. Each kiss landed warm and slow, and each one sent a small shiver chasing the last.

"Haah..."

Dawn could do nothing but moan under it. The way Liv worshipped her, as though she were something precious rather than an empress to be handled carefully, made her chest ache in a way that had nothing to do with the worm at all. She threaded her fingers through Liv’s hair and held her there, unwilling to let the moment move any faster than it wanted to.

"Alpha~ please—"

Impatience finally got the better of her, and she leaned forward and bit down on the side of Liv’s neck, right where the skin was warm and close to the pulse.

"Ngh—"

Liv made a low sound in her throat, and Dawn felt a small thrill at having drawn it out of her. The General let her have her bite, let her teeth stay there for a moment longer than necessary, and only then did she pull back with a quiet sigh.

"How impatient," Liv said, though she did not sound displeased about it. "Fine."

She set Dawn down gently, and Dawn’s feet found the floor again, though her legs still felt unsteady. Before she could gather herself, Liv turned her around to face the wall, and the cool stone pressed against her palms and her cheek. Dawn’s heart hammered harder now that she could not see the alpha behind her, and every small sound felt louder in the dark of the little room.

Behind her, she heard the soft clink of a buckle, then the slow slide of leather as Liv undid her belt. Dawn’s mouth went dry. She was sweating now, the fine sheen of it gathering along the back of her neck and between her shoulders, and she could not tell whether it was the heat of the room or the anticipation winding tighter in her belly.

Liv undressed her the rest of the way without rushing. She pushed the breeches down over Dawn’s hips, guiding the fabric past her thighs and letting it pool around her ankles. Then she stepped close and pulled Dawn’s small body back against her, so that the length of her front met the curve of Dawn’s spine.

Dawn could feel the warmth of her, the solid weight of her, and she had to bite her lip to keep from making a sound too early.

"How’s my little pet treating you, Dawn?" Liv murmured, and leaned down to nip at the edge of Dawn’s ear.

The touch was small, barely more than a graze of teeth, but Dawn’s already-sensitive body answered it as though it had been struck. A shiver ran straight down her spine, and her hips shifted back on their own, seeking more of the contact behind her.

"Alpha~ haah~"

She tried to keep her voice low. There were servants somewhere beyond the walls, their footsteps and chatter passed by now and again, close enough that Dawn could make out the rhythm of their conversation without understanding the words. The last thing she wanted was for half the palace to know what their empress was doing in a storage room.

Liv noticed her effort and, predictably, decided to make it harder. She brought one hand around and let her fingers trail down Dawn’s stomach, then lower, until she was stroking the wet heat at the tops of Dawn’s thighs. Dawn’s knees nearly gave out. She was soaked already, the evidence of everything the worm had been building in her since morning, and the feel of Liv’s fingers there was almost too much.

Then Liv pressed the blunt tip of her length against Dawn’s entrance from behind and held it there, not entering, only resting. The pressure was light enough to tease and firm enough to promise, and Dawn could not stop the cry that broke out of her.

"You’re so beautiful like this, do you know that?" Liv whispered against her ear. "Small waist, soft and healthy breasts... And a sensitive body." Liv gently squeeze Dawn’s breast from the front and all Dawn could do was submit even more.

Every word seemed to land somewhere deep inside her. Dawn’s head spun, and she pressed her forehead to the cold wall to steady herself. The worm picked up its pace again, faster than before, and Dawn felt her whole body tighten in response.

"Alpha~ I beg you—agh~"

She could not finish the sentence. Her back arched, and she pushed her bottom back against the hard length behind her, trying to coax it forward, trying to make Liv stop teasing. The worm worked at her core nub without mercy, and she could feel herself climbing toward the very edge of what she could bear, the point where pleasure started to blur into overstimulation.

Her hands scrambled against the wall for purchase. She needed an anchor, something to hold onto, because her legs were no longer reliable and her breath was coming in shallow, uneven gasps.

"You’re dripping," Liv said, and Dawn could hear the smile in her voice. "Look at you."

Dawn could not look. She could only feel. The wetness ran down the inside of her thigh, and when Liv finally, slowly, pushed her hardened length inside the tight heat of her, Dawn’s world tilted sideways.

The cry that tore out of her was raw and guttural, and it did not sound like the empress at all. It sounded like an omega coming apart, and it carried through the thin walls of the little room before she could smother it.

Outside, the footsteps paused.

"Did you hear that?" A voice asked, hushed but curious. "Was that someone moaning?"

Dawn’s hand flew to her mouth, but Liv would not let her hide. The alpha caught both her wrists and pulled them back, pinning them firmly at the small of Dawn’s back so that she had no way to muffle herself. Then Liv began to move, rolling her hips in a slow, deep rhythm that bottomed her out with every thrust, and Dawn’s attempts at silence crumbled almost at once.

"Yeah, it is," another voice answered, farther off. "We should go. It’s not our business to meddle with."

The footsteps faded, and the corridor went quiet again, but Liv did not slow down for a single beat.

Dawn was grateful for one thing, at least. She had taken her pheromone suppressant earlier that morning, and so the air around them stayed clean and contained, her scent was locked down where it could not spill out and give the whole palace something to whisper about. It was the only part of her that remained under control.

Everything else had long since stopped listening to her.

Her body shook with every thrust. Liv drove into her at an angle that knocked against her deepest point again and again, and Dawn’s vision swam with each impact. Her eyes rolled back behind her lids, and her mouth hung open around sounds she could no longer shape into words.

She tried to keep her legs from trembling, tried to keep her knees locked, but Liv’s grip on her wrists and the steady rhythm behind her made it impossible.

"Haah~ agh~ ah~ uh~"

She was being undone, slowly and thoroughly, and there was nothing she could do but let it happen.

Liv bent her head and dragged her tongue across the gland at the side of Dawn’s neck, and Dawn’s entire body jolted as though she had been struck by lightning. The pheromone glands were the most sensitive place on an omega’s body, the place where scent gathered and spilled and where every instinct lived, and Liv knew exactly what she was doing. She licked it again, slow and deliberate, and Dawn sobbed.

"Please, Liv~ I’m near—"

The words came out thin and broken. Tears of pleasure had already gathered at the corners of her eyes and were slipping down her cheeks, and she did not have a single hand free to wipe them away.

Liv answered by moving faster. The worm had already wound her nub into a state of raw overstimulation, and now the steady rhythm of the alpha inside her pushed her toward the edge from two directions at once. Dawn wanted to scream. She wanted to let everything out, to fill the whole corridor with the sound of it, but she knew she could not, and so she did the only thing left to her.

She opened her mouth and let out a silent scream.

Her body convulsed around Liv, and the release that rolled through her was long and deep and utterly without mercy. Dawn sagged against the wall, held up only by Liv’s grip and the press of the alpha’s body behind her.

Liv groaned low in her chest when she felt how tightly the empress clenched around her. The way Dawn’s walls squeezed was not painful, not when the omega’s insides were already slick with her own arousal, coating Liv’s length so that every slide was smooth and every pull was easy. It only made the rhythm faster, harder, and Dawn was dragged along with it whether she was ready or not.

"Haah! haa ah Liv~ ngh! Please~ ah~ ah~ Alpha—"

The begging no longer meant anything specific. It was simply the shape her mouth made when she could not hold anything else.

Liv held her firmly but gently, one arm braced across her waist to keep her upright. "Shhh," she murmured against Dawn’s hair. "It’ll be okay. Just hang on."

And then, without warning, Liv pulled the worm away.

The sudden absence of it made Dawn gasp, but Liv did not give her even a moment to adjust. She quickened her pace instead, driving into Dawn with a renewed urgency that pushed her straight past her first peak and into a second, the two of them bleeding together until Dawn could no longer tell where one ended and the other began.

Liv struck that spot inside her over and over, and the world went soft at the edges. Dawn stopped being able to reason about where she was or whether any of it was real. For a long, dizzy stretch, she simply existed in it, caught somewhere between confusion and pleasure, no longer sure the storage room or the books or the narrow window even existed.

"So good~ so good~ please! Please~"

Liv pressed her mouth to Dawn’s shoulder and bit down, hard enough to leave a mark but not hard enough to break the skin. She could not mark the omega the way a true bond would, not yet, not with so much still unsettled between their houses and their duties, but she could do this.

She could leave her marks on Dawn’s skin, one after another, small claims stitched into the flesh where only the two of them would ever see them.

Dawn tilted her head to the side and offered up more of her shoulder without a word. ThenLiv took it.

Time lost all meaning after that. The thin strip of light from the window crept across the wall and then began to fade, and still they did not stop. Dawn came apart and was gathered back together and came apart again, and Liv held her through every one of them with the same steady patience she had shown from the very first kiss.

Whenever Dawn’s legs gave out, Liv caught her. Whenever her voice failed, Liv waited until it returned.

The corridor outside quieted as the day wore on. The servants finished their rounds, the palace settled into its evening hush, and still the little room held the two of them like a secret it had decided to keep.

And their activity continued for many hours in that room.
