Chapter 835 - Chapter 835: Learning From Each Other

Chapter 835: 835: Learning From Each Other

For the past few days, Ethan spent his time debating Dao with Gu Cheng.

The perspective he used to analyse things was certainly out of this world. From him, Ethan learnt various things that broadened his understanding.

The first was the method of body cultivation. The techniques Gu Cheng taught him weren’t suitable for Ethan at first because the breathing patterns and energy flow were completely different. Therefore, Ethan had to adjust the techniques and make them completely tailor-made for his body.

He then used his own lightning spells to strike himself down and temper his body while sweeping away the dust lingering within it. The process was painful, but Ethan endured it without backing down.

The second thing he learnt was how to tear through spatial nodes to teleport. It was something he was able to learn easily because of his affinity for the Space Element.

Anyone with a Space Affinity could use it. This was another application of teleportation. Inside the void, there were high-level spatial fluctuations. If someone didn’t have a strong enough body, they would be crushed by the pressure.

But Ethan managed to prevail, and now he had gained the power to teleport across the world.

He and Gu Cheng then went on short-distance teleportation trips to several Empires. Ethan grew more familiar with the process with each attempt, and his excitement only continued to grow.

It was exhilarating. With a single tear in space, he could travel several thousand kilometres. The only problem was his lack of knowledge about the world’s geography.

If he could memorise the locations all over the world, he could travel anywhere within the blink of an eye.

"Rathlos would surely love it." Ethan smiled, excited by the prospect. He could already imagine Rathlos’ reaction after learning about this ability.

The next thing he learnt was Sword Intent.

He inferred that Sword Aura and Sword Intent were quite similar. However, the realm and upper ceiling of Sword Intent seemed to be much higher. At a high level of Sword Intent, one didn’t even need a sword.

His very presence could become akin to a sword. Even grabbing empty air could form an invisible sword in his hand.

Alas, that wasn’t possible with Sword Aura. Ethan wanted to learn why such a large difference existed between the two.

What was the reason?

Was it because of the difference in worlds or their laws?

After delving deeper, he found that it was due to the soul aspect. Unlike cultivators, who could refine and form a Nascent Soul that was like a miniature version of themselves and could survive even after their physical body was killed, the people of this world couldn’t undergo such an arduous journey.

On top of that, cultivators could even reincarnate and possess another body. The cultivation world truly stood at a higher level, but its power could still be matched.

From this, he inferred that stepping into the Ascension Realm was akin to becoming an Immortal Cultivator.

There were stages within the Ascension Realm, but the differences between them were still unknown to him.

Aside from that, he learnt various Qi absorption techniques and other methods, but Ethan wasn’t able to comprehend them no matter how much he tried. It was the same for the Illusory Mythical Techniques.

No matter how much he studied them, he couldn’t grasp their essence. He could only master the fighting techniques, while all the others remained unreadable to him.

While Ethan learnt from Gu Cheng, he also taught him the art of magic.

Gu Cheng found that mastering magic was much simpler than using spells. He was surprised by how easily he could understand the principles behind it and began experimenting with different applications.

While spells depended on one’s comprehension ability and Qi, magic depended entirely on imagination.

The Rain Spell, which was like a nightmare for those in the Qi Refining Realm, was just child’s play for a low-level Magician. Even if one didn’t have the required mana, they could simply draw it from their surroundings.

Gu Cheng was quite fascinated by this difference. What seemed difficult in one world could be surprisingly simple in another, and the more they exchanged their knowledge, the more they realised just how different their worlds truly were.

"This is really a miraculous thing. I can’t believe such a thing can be used so simply." Gu Cheng shook his head in amazement, still looking at the rain falling over the fields. "If those spellcasters see this in my world, all of them might just go crazy."

Below them, the villagers were still celebrating the sudden rain. Some stood in the middle of the fields with their arms spread wide, allowing the rain to soak their clothes. Others hurried to collect water in wooden barrels and clay pots, while a few elderly villagers knelt on the muddy ground and offered prayers of gratitude. The children ran through the puddles, laughing and splashing water at one another.

An old farmer stood beside his withered crops, his hands trembling as he touched the wet soil. His eyes grew red as he watched the rain fall over the land he had almost given up on. The other farmers gathered around him, their faces filled with relief and disbelief. They had spent days worrying about their families and crops, yet a single spell had brought them hope.

"Yeah, it’s better than your spells, but I am worried if magic can even be used in your world." Ethan spoke with a bitter smile.

Gu Cheng’s expression stiffened as he realised something. His smile slowly faded, and he clicked his tongue in remorse.

"Ah... That’s right. I almost forgot about that."

He lowered his head slightly, feeling a little regretful. While he had been enjoying the wonders of magic, he had forgotten the most important problem. If magic couldn’t be used in his world, then all the knowledge he had gained might not be of much use there.

Meanwhile, a few villagers had noticed Gu Cheng standing in the distance. One of the younger farmers pointed toward him, and the others soon followed his gaze. Their expressions changed as they realised that the strange man was the one who had summoned the rain.

"Was it that gentleman who brought the rain?"

"It must be him! I saw him raising his hand before the clouds appeared!"

"Quickly, we should thank him!"

Several villagers hurried toward them, their clothes soaked and their faces filled with gratitude. An elderly farmer stepped forward and bowed deeply, while the others followed his example.

"Thank you, Sir! You have saved our crops and our families!"
