Chapter 857 - Chapter 857: Coming to Find You

“That’s none of your business,” Fiona Linton said coldly.

The person on the other end gave a lazy laugh and said, “Then transfer the money. This piece of information is worth a million.”

“You!” Fiona’s eyes widened in disbelief. “Are you out of your mind? Did I ask you? Didn’t you tell me yourself? You went out of your way to tell me, and now you want money? Are you crazy for cash?!”

The other party admitted it shamelessly. “Yes, I am. I think about money all the time. I feel physically ill when I’m not making money. So remember to make the transfer, or don’t blame me if I come to collect it in person.”

“You…”

Before Fiona could get her curse words out, the call was disconnected.

Ha!

He went out of his way to offer information and still expected to get paid? Keep dreaming!

Fiona clutched her phone tightly. Her mood was incredibly complicated, surging with deep-seated hatred.

Jasper Holloway!

She closed her eyes, trying desperately to suppress the painful memories surfacing in her mind. She had to stay steady; she couldn’t lose her composure. Barely had Vera Holloway sent people to hunt down Chloe Reed when Jasper was heading to Breyburn.

What did this mean? Did the siblings plan this together, or did they have their own separate goals and agendas?

Fiona walked out of the room, her mind weighed down by her thoughts. Seeing that Walker Grant was no longer in the dining room, she asked in confusion, “Where is he?”

“Dylan Finch… arrived,” Chloe said. “They… went to the study.”

Fiona nodded, then said, “Chloe, I just got news. Jasper is coming to Breyburn soon.”

Hearing this, Chloe’s grip on her chopsticks suddenly tightened.

Vera’s brother? Why was he coming? Did he know what Vera had done? Did he know that Vera wasn’t actually a child of the Holloway family?

A shimmering light flickered in Chloe’s clear, watery eyes. She looked at Fiona and asked, “Do you have any specifics?”

Fiona shook her head. “There’s no detailed itinerary yet, but this information can’t be fake.” That shameless money-grubber would never sell fake intel just to make a buck.

Chloe nodded. “I understand.”

“Do you have a plan?” Fiona asked in confusion.

“I want… to test him… to see if he knows… what Vera… has done,” Chloe said.

Fiona’s hands curled into fists. “And then?”

Chloe looked at her. “You want… revenge, don’t you?”

“Yes!” Fiona nodded vigorously. “I dream of killing him.”

“Then… we’ll put on… a show of framing… and shifting the blame,” Chloe said.

Fiona’s eyes immediately lit up!

“Yes! We’ll shift the blame onto Vera and let the Holloway family fight amongst themselves!” Making someone die was too easy; making them wish they were dead took real effort.

“For now… we gather our strength,” Chloe said.

“Got it.”

Upstairs in the study.

Dylan’s expression was exceptionally serious. “Mr. Grant, we’ve lost contact with Young Master Monroe. Mr. Shaw informed me that their rescue attempt failed. William Quinn returned completely unharmed.”

Walker furrowed his sharp, handsome brows. “Have you contacted William Quinn?”

“Emails have been sent, but he hasn’t replied,” Dylan said. His expression grew somewhat complicated. “Mr. Grant, standing in opposition to William Quinn puts us at a significant disadvantage.”

Walker’s face darkened considerably, and his tone was icy. “Flip the positions. Let him know that going against me puts him at a disadvantage. Go inform Ethan Finch.”

His deep, composed voice slowly laid out the subsequent plans. Dylan listened intently, his expression grave.
