All of Li Yang’s worries were now gone. All he had to do was improve even faster!
According to the Eternal Ancestor, if he defeated one hundred virtual opponents, it would be equivalent to completely mastering the second form of the Destruction Spear Skill. At that point, he could easily slay any ordinary Deity.
Previously, it had taken him ten minutes to pass the fortieth step of the Path of Deities.
Once he mastered it completely, he could pass it easily in just over ten seconds!
WHOOSH!
Li Yang’s figure blurred as he shot toward the phantom!
Seeing Li Yang make his move, the phantom also brandished its spear and engaged him in battle.
And so, Li Yang began his path of training!
...
While Li Yang was cultivating, news about him continued to spread throughout the Human Race. In fact, after the Eternal Ancestor took him as a disciple, the matter escalated further, circulating like wildfire!
"After passing the fortieth step of the Path of Deities, Li Yang was taken as a disciple by the Eternal Ancestor?"
"How many years has it been since the Eternal Ancestor last took a disciple?"
"Remember Luoyu from the Zun Lie Clan? He declared war on Li Yang and even captured his family. Now Luoyu’s the one who’s been captured and thrown straight into the First Abyss Prison."
"Lucky kid."
"This isn’t just luck. Li Yang has only been cultivating for a hundred years, yet he has the strength to kill Deities. His Talent ranks in the top ten in the history of our Human Race! With that kind of Talent, it’s only normal for the Eternal Ancestor to take him in!"
"Li Yang is about to soar to the heavens in a single leap!"
...
Countless powerful members of the Human Race were discussing the matter.
Whether it was passing the fortieth step of the Path of Deities, being ranked in the top ten for Talent in human history, or being taken as the Eternal Ancestor’s disciple... these were all major events!
Li Yang had truly become famous; even many of the Human Race’s top-tier experts had taken notice of him.
Before, the ones who actually paid attention to Li Yang were mostly Deities and a small number of Emperors.
After all, his previous accomplishment of passing the twelfth step was nothing special; it only meant he had the potential to become an Emperor in the future.
But now, the fortieth step carried a completely different meaning—not to mention the Eternal Ancestor backing him!
...
Countless experts within the Human Race had taken notice of Li Yang, and outside their territory, the Alien Races had also received the news.
In the territory of the Demon Race, a massive black python was coiled around an impossibly large mountain peak.
The python was at least ten thousand kilometers long, its body a purplish-black, and it emanated an incomparably terrifying aura.
Its cold gaze swept over the figure below as it said, "What did you say? News from the Human Race is that the human Li Yang passed the fortieth step of their Path of Deities and was even taken as a disciple by the Eternal Ancestor?"
The python’s aura seemed to erupt uncontrollably, pressing down on the one below.
The demonic beast below trembled as it endured the crushing aura. "Yes, Lord Wilderness. The news is spreading all over the Human Race."
The great python’s expression darkened, its eyes filled with a cold, distinct killing intent.
"In such a short time, that human Li Yang has grown this strong? That human Li Yang must be killed!!!"
Just over a decade ago, Li Yang had only passed the twelfth step of the Path of Deities. Back then, his strength was at the World Realm at most!
And now, after only a dozen or so years, the human Li Yang can kill Deities?
A chill ran through Wilderness’s heart. ’This rate of progress is too fast,’ he thought, ’so fast it’s frightening.’
If they allowed the human Li Yang to keep growing like this, the Human Race would have another top-tier expert!
As a powerful race on par with the humans, the Demon Race was locked in a fierce, brutal struggle with them. Both sides did everything in their power to suppress the other from growing stronger.
Their favorite tactic was assassinating the other side’s peerless geniuses.
"Lord Wilderness, what should we do now?" the demonic beast below inquired.
A cold light flickered in Wilderness’s eyes. Though he was furious, he hadn’t lost his reason.
He pondered for a moment before saying, "Right now, the human Li Yang is a disciple of the Eternal Ancestor and is within the Human Race’s Eternal Saint Hall. We have no opportunity there. However, it won’t be long before he breaks through to the World Realm. When that happens, he will surely head to the Slaughter Battlefield. That will be our chance to strike and kill him!"
No one can grow to their full potential without experiencing slaughter. Even if one has peerless talent and has mastered the four great mysteries of the laws, breaking through a major bottleneck isn’t guaranteed. It requires an opportunity, a catalyst!
And that catalyst is often found in the crucible of life and death!
Suddenly breaking through in the middle of a battle is a common occurrence.
That is why, even though many are extremely wary and know the probability of dying during such trials is high, they still venture into those peril-filled Slaughter Battlefields, searching for the opportunity to break through.
"Spread the word immediately. Keep a close watch on the Slaughter Battlefield for any newly emerged human geniuses! Any newcomer whose strength matches the description is a target!"
Everyone knew that if Li Yang were to actually go to the Slaughter Battlefield, he would definitely disguise himself and not appear openly.
Therefore, they needed to pay attention to any new human Deities appearing on the Slaughter Battlefield whose strength was somewhere between that of a Single Pantheon and a Dual Pantheon Deity.
Someone with that level of power was very likely the human Li Yang in disguise.
Wilderness’s eyes blazed with a manic killing intent. "With the human Li Yang’s Talent, breaking through to the Emperor realm in the future will probably be effortless for him. We must cut him down before he is fully grown!"
"Yes, Lord Wilderness!"
...
The Demon Race was filled with killing intent for Li Yang. Meanwhile, in a region immensely distant from the Human Race’s territory, giant beasts were gathering.
These creatures were entirely golden, covered in layers of scales, and each scale was etched with incredibly intricate patterns.
They had two legs, each with three claws. Overall, they looked... like dragons.
This was none other than the Sky-Fierce Flood Dragon clan!
Looking at the gathering of the Sky-Fierce Flood Dragon clan, it seemed they were holding a selection for their young geniuses.
At the forefront, several of the young Sky-Fierce Flood Dragon geniuses were excited and thrilled to be entering the clan’s core grounds.
The elders before them nodded as well, their faces wreathed in smiles.
"The little ones in this generation have performed well."
"With such Talent, it’s highly likely they will become Deities in the future."
The powerful experts of the Sky-Fierce Flood Dragon clan commented with smiles.
Every race placed great importance on nurturing its geniuses. Only by doing so could the clan’s strength continue to grow.
While these experts were discussing this, in another area, a powerful Sky-Fierce Flood Dragon emanating a terrifyingly dreadful aura looked down and said in a heavy voice, "What did you say? Report it again!"
The Sky-Fierce Flood Dragon below did not dare hesitate and quickly said, "Elder, news has come from the human territories. The human Li Yang has just passed the fortieth step of the Human Race’s Path of Deities. That step corresponds to the power of a Deity, which means the human Li Yang can now kill Deities."
