"Killing a Deity?"
The eyes of this top-tier expert from the Sky-Fierce Flood Dragon race instantly filled with immense fury. "Didn’t the human, Li Yang, just pass the twelfth step of the Path of Deities a little over ten years ago? How could his progress be so fast in such a short amount of time?"
A little over ten years ago, news of the human Li Yang had reached their race, filling them with bitter indignation.
Their great Sky-Fierce Flood Dragon race was of a high tier of life. Though not born as Deities, they could master three profundities of the Space Law through normal growth, far surpassing the Human Race.
Yet, their overall strength was far inferior to that of the Human Race! What’s more, geniuses among them were exceedingly rare.
But for the Human Race, which was already so powerful, prodigies of monstrous talent appeared one after another.
First, there was Mixed Void, whose Talent made it highly probable that he would one day become an Emperor.
Then, a Li Yang emerged, another one with a high probability of breaking through to become an Emperor.
Even the Li Yang from twelve years ago would have been considered the number one genius of their race!
"Jun Yang, what’s wrong?"
"Did something happen?"
The other experts of the Sky-Fierce Flood Dragon race noticed the situation and immediately flew over to inquire.
Elder Jun Yang quickly explained what had happened.
"What? The human Li Yang passed the fortieth step of the Human Race’s Path of Deities?"
"How is that possible? Doesn’t that step correspond to a Deity? The human Li Yang can kill Deities?"
"According to our information, the human Li Yang has been cultivating for less than a hundred years, hasn’t he?"
To be able to kill Deities after cultivating for less than a hundred years?
The expression of every single expert from the Sky-Fierce Flood Dragon race changed dramatically.
They had just been in high spirits after their race’s genius selection trial. But compared to the human Li Yang, this new batch of geniuses seemed like nothing but trash.
"Damn it! The Human Race is already so powerful, yet they keep producing peerless geniuses!"
"Killing Deities in under a hundred years... not even our great Sky-Fierce Flood Dragon race has ever seen such a thing!"
"Forget a hundred years, we’ve barely seen a few who could do it in a thousand."
"The heavens are so unfair!"
"Why can’t a genius like that appear among us Sky-Fierce Flood Dragons!"
The Sky-Fierce Flood Dragons were filled with rage, jealousy, and indignation.
They wished so desperately for a peerless genius to emerge from their own ranks, one who could make their race famous throughout the Cosmos. But it never happened. Instead, it was always the top-tier races, like the humans, that were constantly making headlines with news of their geniuses.
The weak remained weak, while the strong grew even stronger. The feeling was unbearable.
...
It wasn’t just the Demon Race and the Sky-Fierce Flood Dragon race; countless other races were all discussing the matter.
"A true peerless genius has appeared in the Human Race, able to kill Deities with less than a hundred years of cultivation!"
"This is insane! Take the Fire Nether Divine Beasts, for example—races of beings born from nature itself. For them, comprehending laws is as easy as drinking water. Yet, even they need at least several hundred, or even a thousand, years to master a single law. And even then, they would struggle to kill a Deity. So how does the human Li Yang cultivate? Humans have no special innate Talent, and their tier of life isn’t high. Forget born Deities like the Fire Nether Divine Beasts; humans can’t even compare to races like the Sky-Fierce Flood Dragons or the Thunder Star Beasts. How did he reach this level in such a short time!"
"To think the Human Race produced such a monstrous genius! There are very few in the entire Cosmos who can kill Deities with less than a hundred years of cultivation."
"Heh, a Human Race genius? It has nothing to do with us. The ones who should be getting a headache are the Demon Race and the other powerful races that have a Creator Ancestor. They won’t just stand by and let this human, Li Yang, continue to develop."
Across the entire Cosmos, countless races were talking about Li Yang.
It could be said that Li Yang had not yet fully matured, but with his Talent alone, he had already captured the attention of an untold number of races.
...
In a region of Human Race territory, on an incredibly desolate planet, a young man in white armor was cultivating in silence. His build was similar to that of an Earthling, and his face was marked with red, esoteric patterns. He had an ordinary appearance, the kind that wouldn’t stand out in a crowd.
Before him, manifestations of laws appeared one after another, which he then comprehended.
All was silent and desolate around him; the young man was completely alone.
After he finished his comprehension.
SWOOSH! SWOOSH! SWOOSH!
Strange lifeforms suddenly appeared all around him.
The young man brandished his longsword. His figure moved like a phantom, felling a lifeform with every strike.
In less than ten seconds, he had killed every last one of the strange lifeforms!
"Not bad, Mixed Void. By killing all these beings, you’ve proven you have the strength to kill Deities."
A small, illusory figure materialized beside the young man. It stood on Mixed Void’s shoulder, declaring with a proud expression, "Your current level has already surpassed the very best of the Human Race’s geniuses. You’re good enough to rank among the top ten in all of human history! With my help, you, Mixed Void, will rapidly become one of the Human Race’s powerhouses—perhaps even one of its greatest!"
The little illusory figure was very confident in itself.
Judging by its words, this young man was none other than the Human Race’s former number one genius, Mixed Void.
"Where to next?" Mixed Void asked.
"Hmm, let me think..."
The small illusory figure said, "My master left behind numerous opportunities. Let me think... which one is most suitable for you next?"
As it pondered, Mixed Void tapped on his wrist device; he had just received a message.
Opening the interface, Mixed Void looked at the message.
"What’s this?"
As he read the message, Mixed Void froze.
The small illusory figure flew over, glanced at the message, and exclaimed in surprise, "Huh? That Li Yang, the one who was ranked behind you, has passed the fortieth step of the Path of Deities and now has the strength to kill Deities? How is that possible? How is he progressing so fast?"
Mixed Void had its many opportunities to aid his training, which was why his progress was so incredibly swift. But that was also because Mixed Void’s own Talent was immense. If his Talent weren’t strong, he couldn’t have improved so much, even with all those opportunities.
Even without its assistance, Mixed Void would still be the number one genius of the Human Race!
Besides, the small illusory figure was confident that with its help, Mixed Void would absolutely leave all other geniuses of the Human Race in the dust and become the most dazzling star of them all.
But what was this situation now?
"Is this Li Yang some kind of freak? His strength used to be less than yours, and he broke through to the Star Lord Realm more than ten years after you did. By my calculations, Li Yang’s rate of progress is twice as fast as yours!" the small illusory figure exclaimed in shock.
Mixed Void had passed the twelfth step of the Path of Deities over thirty years ago, subsequently breaking through to the Star Lord Realm and leaving the Human Race’s Eternal Saint Hall.
And with its assistance and the opportunities left behind by its master, Mixed Void’s rate of progress was only accelerating.
Li Yang, on the other hand, had passed it just over ten years ago.
And now Li Yang had somehow beaten Mixed Void to passing the fortieth step of the Path of Deities?
