Chapter 272 - Chapter 273: Important Lessons for the Wives

Their families could nurture talented descendants for generations, allowing their lineages to produce one powerhouse after another.

Of course, there were exceptions. A few commoners managed to rise to great heights through exceptional physiques or powerful innate skills that attracted the attention of major forces.

However, such cases were rare, and most had to rely on the support of powerful organizations to reach their full potential.

In this world, if someone wanted to gain power, wealth and social standing were often just as important as talent. That was simply the reality of society.

Not everyone could be an anomaly like Nova, someone capable of defying the very foundations upon which the world operated.

And even Nova had now become a noble, not only because of his strength but also because of his achievements and the recognition he had earned.

With the Valencrest family now holding the title of Viscount, their descendants would have access to resources and opportunities that could secure their future for generations to come.

As long as the family continued to grow stronger, the Valencrest lineage would gradually establish itself as a powerful and respected noble house.

Edward and Jenna were having a hard time believing everything that had happened. More than that, the title was a gift from the King, so they couldn’t reject it. After all, no one in their right mind would willingly turn down such an opportunity.

People could go to great lengths just to improve their social standing, yet they had received such an honor because of their son. They couldn’t help but feel proud of him, hardly believing that they would ever witness a day like this.

Jenna’s eyes filled with tears as she stepped forward and hugged her son.

Nova was glad he had accepted the King’s gift. Seeing how happy it made his parents, he felt that it had been worth it.

Now, they wouldn’t have to continue living in Theodore’s mansion as guests. They would finally have a mansion of their own where they could live independently.

Although neither Edward nor Jenna said anything about it, Nova could tell what they were thinking. After everything that had happened, they no longer wanted to impose on the Duke’s hospitality.

Of course, Theodore would never think of them as a burden. They had been living like one big family until now, and after everything they had gone through together and the secrets they had shared, their relationship had only grown stronger.

Still, Nova understood his parents’ feelings. They wanted a place of their own, and he was glad they would finally have one.

With that, Theodore explained everything they needed to know about their new status and the responsibilities that came with it.

There wasn’t much they had to worry about immediately, though Edward would need to sign several documents and handle various political matters.

Since Edward was now a Viscount, he would also have to leave Theodore’s Knight Order, as he could no longer serve under the Duke in the same capacity while holding his own noble title.

Theodore left the matter in Edward’s hands, trusting him to handle the responsibilities that came with their new status. Edward happily accepted, knowing that he could manage these affairs.

Two hours passed, and all the discussions and arrangements related to the matter were finally concluded.

They were informed that they would be able to visit their new mansion in two days. Fortunately, it wasn’t far from the Duke’s mansion, so the two families could continue meeting without difficulty.

With everything settled, noon passed, and evening gradually arrived. As usual, the women entered the System Space to train with Nova.

....

After learning about Laws from Liya, Nova realized that Nyxara knew very little about them. That was understandable, considering she had only recently become a Sovereign and hadn’t yet realized the full extent of what that realm offered.

Nova gathered all his wives, as this training session would be different from their usual ones. Velena was also present.

The scenery around them was that of a beautiful landscape filled with lush green hills and towering mountains. Nova rested his head on Rieka’s lap before turning his attention to the women.

"My dear wives... I have something really important to tell you all. It will be extremely beneficial for you to learn, especially you, Nyxara, since you’re already a Sovereign."

All of them looked at him curiously, wondering what could be so important that he had gathered everyone for it.

However, one person was paying attention to something entirely different.

"Um... L-Lord Nova, I’m not your wife..." Velena muttered in a low voice.

Her expression remained the same, except for the faint blush spreading across her cheeks.

Nova didn’t know what to say. Meanwhile, all the women rolled their eyes, except Rieka, who chuckled and lovingly caressed Nova’s hair.

Is she seriously asking that?!

They all thought the same thing.

By now, it was obvious that they considered Velena one of their own fellow sisters. Even so, they wanted Nova to do something about their relationship instead of leaving things as they were.

Of course, it wouldn’t be entirely fair to blame Velena for the situation. Despite being the oldest among them, almost the same age as Nyxara’s mother, she had practically no experience with these matters.

Nova understood that he needed to take things forward with her as well. He liked Velena a lot and knew she had feelings for him, although he didn’t realize that she had already fallen deeply in love with him.

"Alright... Sorry, my dear Velena," Nova said with a light chuckle.

Hearing him call her that only made Velena’s cheeks turn even redder.

Then, she remembered Liya’s and her princess’s words. They had told her that she needed to be more forward, since Lord Nova liked that kind of attitude from the women he was interested in.

After that, Nova began explaining Laws to the women, including the differences between elemental affinities and the Laws they already knew about.

Now that they understood the concept, they could begin comprehending and learning any Laws they wished. Since all of them possessed Divine Bloodlines, they had the potential to comprehend quite a few Laws.

The only exception was Velena, who didn’t possess a Divine Bloodline.

Even so, her comprehension ability was quite good. Nova believed she could learn at least one additional Law, and he would find a way to improve her bloodline later.

He explained everything he had learned from Liya, and as the women gradually understood the concept, they couldn’t help but feel surprised.

Nyxara was particularly astonished. Despite having recently reached the Sovereign Realm, she had never realized that there was so much more to learn beyond what she knew.

Of course, her father and many other powerful beings must have known about this. However, knowing about something and being capable of doing it were two entirely different matters.

Nova then explained the difficulties involved in comprehending Laws.

In this world, learning a Law wasn’t easy unless someone was born with an affinity for it. Even then, talent alone wasn’t enough. One also needed to encounter a suitable environment to comprehend and develop that particular Law.

Then Nyxara thought of something and spoke.

"Husband, you can encounter such environments inside the Secret Realm. I’ve seen them myself, and many powerhouses have used them to improve their affinities and resistances.

However, these environments are extremely dangerous. Many people have died inside them because they’re part of the inheritance, and no one has ever managed to clear it completely."

Hearing Nyxara’s words, Nova began to ponder. Wouldn’t this be an excellent opportunity for him, Rieka, and Asia?
