Seeing Alice Turner hang up the phone, Lily Turner approached her sister and asked quietly, "Sis! Why does she keep calling you? Does she want you to get back with Benjamin Shaw?"
Calling so frequently definitely has that intention.
"I don’t know what their family is thinking, but I know what I’m doing."
Alice Turner had known from the start what Isla Lane and Charlotte Shaw meant, taking turns calling her about Benjamin Shaw’s condition, simply trying to make her feel guilty enough to agree to remarry Benjamin Shaw.
She couldn’t control what the mother and daughter thought, but she could control herself, and she clearly knew what she should do.
Lily Turner absolutely trusted her sister’s ability to handle matters, but seeing Isla Lane frequently calling to ’disturb’ her sister, she was furious.
They divorced five years ago, and now they came to her house bothering her sister again. Their family really has thick skin.
"Let that family go cool off somewhere else."
Her sister had already found a man who truly cherished her, let that Shaw regret it.
"Let’s not talk about those bothersome things, let’s go eat." Alice Turner put away her phone, linked arms with Lily Turner, and left the living room. The two sisters then walked hand in hand into the dining room.
Seeing the two sisters come in, everyone looked over, except Thomas Fisher and Easton Holmes; others quickly shifted their gaze away from them.
"Everything okay?"
Alice Turner just sat down beside Thomas Fisher, and he, in a lowered voice, asked.
Alice Turner shook her head: "I’m fine."
He was concerned about her, not prying for information, and she was clear about that in her heart.
Autumn York seemingly shifted her gaze away, but her eyes lingered on Thomas Fisher and Alice Turner. She had many things she wanted to say but couldn’t.
If she spoke those words right now, she was momentarily unsure how others would react, but she could guess how her husband would react in a heartbeat.
She didn’t want to touch her husband’s sore spot in this situation.
"This is for you; my wife specifically instructed me to give this to you as a gift." Easton Holmes pulled out a red envelope from his pocket, filled with money, and placed it directly in front of Thomas Fisher.
"Thanks, little sister-in-law!"
Thomas Fisher picked up the big red envelope Easton Holmes placed in front of him and thanked Lily Turner.
It wasn’t that he was disrespecting his brother-in-law, but he knew this would only make his brother-in-law happy, and his brother-in-law wouldn’t be upset at all.
Sure enough, hearing Thomas Fisher thank Lily Turner, Easton Holmes’s lips curled into a smile, but his eyes darkened when he heard Thomas Fisher call her little sister-in-law.
Thanks to his wife, his seniority was getting smaller and smaller.
Rosie Thompson saw her dad give her uncle a big red envelope, swallowed her food, and blinked her beautiful big eyes to ask, "Dad! Why did you give uncle a red envelope?"
"Silly! Of course, it’s because uncle and auntie got married; Dad and Mom gave them a wedding gift." Ann explained the red envelope issue to her little sister in a mature manner.
Evie overheard her brother and sister talking about the red envelope and eagerly joined in, "What’s a wedding gift then?"
"A wedding gift is monetary support, silly!"
Ann glanced at his little sister and shook his head, feeling quite troubled by his clueless little silly sister.
Upon hearing her brother call her silly, Evie immediately complained, tilting her head to tell Dad, "Dad! Brother called me silly."
