Alice Turner spent a long time in the bathroom before she returned to normal. She checked herself over and over in the mirror, and after confirming that there was nothing wrong with her appearance, she left the bathroom and headed back to the dining room.
As soon as she stepped into the dining room, Alice noticed that the atmosphere was different, even warmer and more harmonious than before. Everyone was happily chatting, except for Autumn York.
"Hurry up and eat, if you come back any later, the dishes will be cold." Thomas Fisher said while putting food into Alice Turner’s bowl, and in no time, her bowl was piled high like a small mountain.
Looking at the rapidly growing mound of food in front of her, Alice Turner felt a warm sensation in her heart; she had always been independent and never had anyone take care of her so thoughtfully.
"You should eat too, don’t just serve me."
Alice Turner flashed a gentle smile at the man beside her, picked up her chopsticks, and began to enjoy the food he had served her.
Perhaps because she was in such a good mood, she found that today’s meal tasted particularly delicious.
After finishing his meal, Lily Turner went upstairs to help him with his homework.
After Rosie Thompson and Evie were full, they clamored to go out and play. Easton Holmes got up to take them outside, but Christopher Turner stopped them, saying, "Let your mom take Rosie and Evie out to play; you stay here and have a drink with us."
It was rare for everyone to gather like this, not having a few more drinks would be a disservice to such a joyous occasion.
"Easton! Listen to your dad, I’ll take the kids out to play." Sophia Wood said, and without waiting for Easton Holmes to respond, she got up and left the dining room with a child in each hand.
Alice Turner wanted to join her mom to play with Rosie and Evie, but seeing Autumn York sitting there, she gave up on the idea.
She decided to sit here and keep her mother-in-law company instead; otherwise, it would be awkward for her to sit alone.
"Mom! How about we go out for a walk and leave dad and Thomas to drink?"
Alice Turner glanced at the four men, her mind suddenly sparking with this idea. Being someone who acts on her thoughts immediately, she intended to put it into action.
Autumn York had longed to leave the oppressive dining room, so as soon as Alice finished speaking, she nodded in agreement, "Okay."
She replied coolly and stood up immediately.
"Take care."
Thomas Fisher wasn’t so assured and looked up to remind Alice Turner.
Alice Turner understood what he was worried about, and as she got up, she squeezed his hand reassuringly, "Don’t worry, I’ll take good care of mom."
With those words, she flashed him a reassuring smile, then got up and linked arms with her mother-in-law to leave the dining room.
Watching the backs of Autumn York and Alice Turner as they left, Thomas Fisher felt a bit worried, but recalling the situation before dinner in the living room, some of his concerns were alleviated.
Once they were far from the dining room, Autumn York resisted and tried to shake off Alice’s hand, but like in the living room, Alice’s grip was firm, giving her no chance to break free.
"Mom! Don’t shake me off, I want to hold you like this." Alice Turner said these words with a constant happy smile, her eyes never leaving her mother-in-law, with laughter in her eyes and a bright smile on her lips.
Autumn York was exasperated by Alice’s persistent manner, she turned her head, glaring at her, "Alice Turner! How come I haven’t realized before that you’re such a shameless woman, don’t you see I don’t like you? Let go of me, I find you annoying."
